What ticks me off about Mike Shanahan and Broncos

The Broncos will get beaten by the Cowboys on thanksgiving day. Mark my words.

Up 20-0 with under 3:00 remaining in his team’s game versus the Jets, Mike Shanahan opted to go for it on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal. The Broncos made it and scored a TD two plays later. Classless displays like that are the reason Mike Shanahan has never won a playoff game without John Elway, doesn’t give to charity, tramples his neighbors flowerbeds just for grins, ignores the homeless, kicks every third dog he sees, donates money to Kim Jong-Il, once gave a speech in which he advocated the adoption of corporal punishment for jaywalkers, unscrews the top of salt shakers so the next person using them will pour all the salt on their food and is just an overall deplorable human being.

In other words, you had the Jets in a 10-point teaser.

Don't blame Shanahan for going for it. Why risk a blocked FG? Any coach would do the same thing. How is it classless? Blame yourself for siding with the Jets.

and if he had tried to kick a FG on 4th down - what would you have said then?

you woulda bitched and complained about him "piling it on" and kicking an unnecessary FG

in this case - when you are deep in the other team's territory - you do the SAME thing Shanny did - you run the ball straight up the gut. if you get stopped - so be it - if you make the first down - so be it

doing something like play-action pass THAT is piling it on - but running straight up the gut isn't

this is sorta like a baseball team up 15-0 in the latter part of the game. you DON'T try and steal any bases and you don't get super agressive on the base paths, but you still swing away and if you hit a HR - so be it
