Many, many factors are involved with consistent winning. It all starts with solid money management, not being too greedy and good old fashioned work.

However, my question here is regarding team sports in general. IMO there are two major factors at play a] knowledge of the teams involved and the sport itself and b] knowledge and understanding of the chess game of lines and line movements that is played between the man and the player.

While of course one assumes the player avails himself all opportunities to study the matchup, I would say that b] is still at least 60% of the total equation and probably more.

So if you are new to this, know all your teams, trends and zone defenses and maybe not doing as well as you'd expect don't despair b] is a product of time and experience.

Be interesting to get some opinions on this premise.

Hope you all are having a good Thanksgiving.

I propose that the single most important factor in winning at sportsbetting is REDUCING JUICE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

Not handicapping - because you can only get so good.

With all the low juice shops and the exchanges and some juice reducing strategies you can hit this number.

It is the single factor that separtates most winners from losers long term.

***Meant to say - you shouldnt pay more than 5% juice avg over the long term - and you can hit that number easily. I have averaged just over 2% during the football season.

This has been talked about alot, but one thing is for sure. If you do not have a proper bankroll you can't survive the ups and downs to see if you have what it takes. Work hard, bet smart, shop lines and don't chase. Oh yeah, don't leave any money on the table. If you see a scalp, take it. If you are offered 20% and want to play there, take it.

one thing that has hammered me this season, is raising my bet size too early...

I tripled my original bankroll after week 11 in football, and in week 12 gave back 1/3 of it because I jumped up my bet size, and hit my first bad losing weekend at the same time....greed is bad! slow steady jog
