I should not have actually received this computer because I did not camp out all night like other people. I got there at 4:30 in the morning only to be about #300 in line or so! Well I knew that I could not get the $378 laptop or the $149 desktop computer at that time, but I needed other things on sale for my son and daughter for Christmas.

Well after loading up on cheap DVD's and playstation 2 games as well as a new gameboy advance, I then waiting in a checkout line for around 35 minutes. As the line drew closer to the front, I kept seeing items that people had discarded because they realized that they didnt want them. I picked up The Grinch and a few other DVD's for just $3.99 each. I also bought Destroy all Humans for PS2 for only $19.99!! That is a great price for this game.

It turned out to be early Christmas for me as near the end of the line, I noticed the $149 desktop computer that someone had discarded for some reason. I snatched it up real quick as people were looking all over the store for these desktops! The store only had around 40 of them for sale. It will make a great second computer, or hell I might even make it my primary computer!

But I did learn one lesson, I wont be waking up early on Black Friday anymore! It took me around 2:30 hours in line and waiting for the store to open to only save around $400 or so altogether! Without the computer, my savings would have been around $150. Hardly worth the hardship of not sleeping much or wasting this amount of time. Thank GOD that I saw taht desktop to make the trip worthwhile!

Check around in the coming weeks as I have heard that Best Buy will have the same system for sale again for around $225. Hell of a deal for a PC, monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse!

I also bought a D-LINK router and network card for this new computer so I can share my cable internet connection! So far, I cant seem to put it together correctly, but I will let you know how the performance changes on my primary computer in terms of speed

My wife just got back from Best Buy and she said it was incredible. People lining up at 4:00 a.m. with the doors opening at 5:00 a.m. Incredible prices on everything until noon. She said the lines to check out wound around every isle in the store. Not my kind of thing but congrats to everyone who got a bargain today. Great store to be sure.:103631605

I went to CompUSA around my house last night, they opened their sale at 12:00 midnight which I'm way more inclined to go to than waking up at obscene hours like 4 in the morning...

Got myself a 17" LCD monitor for $150 and almost got killed by a mob of rabid asian techno-geeks all trying to get ahold of an external hard drive I also wanted for my laptop

I'm not a big shopper (let the women do that) but every once in awhile I'll go, but that was nuts. I'll never go out the day after thanksgiving again

I have the wireless D-link router. ADSL goes into router so there should be minimal effect on my desktop which shares router with laptop. In fact only when I fire up Word on the laptop and it looks for the printer, attached to desktop, or when I send a file through for printing should there be any burp of extra activity on the desktop.

Good job PO, but still can't see why anyone does this to save a couple hundred they will blow elsewhere....waiting in a line or traffic is not worth the savings.

People got trampled today somewhere when the doors open. Then some guy got in a scuffle with Orlando police at a Wal Mart. They have video of it. It's insane what people will fight for.
