HELP I dont understand this 2nd half nba Boston -5 line??

game line closed at - 5 1/2

boston down one at half not doing much not too bad either.

now the second half line is Boston -5???

that is the game line and this is only 1/2 a game?

are they trapping you to take Charlotte here here here?

Im all over BOSTON at this line right??? hurry i need backup on this.

i pounded it.... got -5 +105 for a brief second at Pinny and I took it....something up on that game in the second half. - 3 points I could see but -5 is strange.

This is a normal HT line trytrytry. The book is not trying to bait you. Hell. they want equal action. The books do not want to be gamblers.

no i see that line as a books special, a way to get only one sided action (except for my wagers!!!). lets see....

This is a normal half time line. The game closed at 6. So if the celtics were up by 3, the 2nd half would be -3. Because they were down, you are paying a preium on the celtics on the 2nd half, so -4.5 to 5 sounds about right

One thing I have noticed is that they try not to let people middle them.

If Team A is -10 and is leading by 3 at the half, the line will be 6.5 or 7 (to make it 9.5 or 10)

If Team A is -10 and is leading by 6 at the half, the line will be 4 or 4.5 (to make it 10.5 or 10)

If Team A is -10 and they are leading by 8, placing a -5 or 5.5 simply invites 1-way action from people who have Team A and are simply trying to hedge their bets a little and still have a 3 point middle.

big loss for me on that one....should have done what everyone else did! Pinny had the -5 at -105 and it was bet up to around -115 and even as high as -118. lots of winners. hope some of you had some anyway!

sorry about your loss. but if the line was bet up, there were lots of losers. i had the celtics for the game. i think the big lession learned here is that the Celtics SUCK....
