how many nhl goalies have scored a goal?

i remeber being at a kings game at the great western forum in the 76-77 season and kings goalie roagie vachon cleared the punk which ended up going into the opposing net. the crowd erupted as it would have been the first goalie to score in nhl history. when i got to the car i heard on the post game show that they had changed the goal to someone that tiopped it in.

what goalies have gotten a goal in a game?

I think Ron Hextall has at least one. Billy Smith may have one as well.

Billy Smith had the first credited. Key word is credited. While recent goalies have actually shot the puck and scored - Smith cleared the puck to the opposing end. The then Colorado Rockies had accidently scored on their own net - but Billy "The Butcher" was the last Islander to have touched the puck prior to the Rockies error.

Hextall was the first to actually score against the Bruins. Classic call by the B's announcer, Fred Cusick. Hextall is clearing the puck with abandon for a while and Cusick says something like, "Hextall has a strong shot. One of these days, he'll be the first goalie to score a goal." Not more than three minutes later, that actually happened.

I liked Hextall's reaction after scoring. His shot snuck in the very corner of the net. At the press conference afterwards, Hextall says to the media: "before you guys say anything, I was aiming for that corner."

Goalie shot is when his team is losing ( and pulls goalie from net )with a minute left, right ( pun intended). Has a goalie's goal ever resulted in a win, for that team ?
