Is there a new NFL rule in order to perform at halftime in the Superbowl you have to be 60 years or older didn't Paul McCartney perform last year. Look what Janet Jackson caused us all to have to watch now thanks to her boob.

Rolling Stones to play 2006 Super Bowl half-time show

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Veteran rockers the Rolling Stones will perform during the 2006 Super Bowl half-time break, show sponsor Sprint Nextel Corp. said on Tuesday.

The championship game of the U.S. National Football League airs on February 5 from Detroit on Walt Disney Co.'s ABC network. The Super Bowl is the single most-watched U.S. television event each year and a showcase for musicians and advertisers alike.

The game's half-time show gained unexpected notoriety in 2004, when singer Janet Jackson's breast was exposed during her performance, sparking an outcry over perceived indecency on U.S. television.

The Rolling Stones, led by singer Mick Jagger, 62, are in the midst of a world tour featuring tracks of their new album, "A Bigger Bang," as well as such classic hits as "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (But I Like It)."

Sprint became the NFL's official wireless sponsor this season, including a partnership to offer football fans original programing and information over cellular phones.

While i disagree with your claim they have the most hits, I do agree they obviously have a catalog big enough for a 4 hour of concert .

Great one liner Tesco but that's not the case this time. A Bigger Bang is a strong album regardless of the year. Their getting the best reviews of their careers and that has to be the main reason. Even if it wasn't, i think new stuff adds interest to the show. :suomi:

First -what distinguishes a 'hit'?

Perhaps making the Billboard top 100 ( or 10, 50, etc.). Beatles are about only other band in same class, may win by that definition.
