I just dont see the need to have more than 1 poker account like you do with a sportsbook. I found a good poker site that suites all my needs. I dont need 7 poker books like I do sportsbooks.

The brings up the safety question. Hopefully I can start to build up a real big bankroll over there. Is the chances of a poker site packing there bags less than a sportsbook? I know nothing is as safe as your bank. But wouldnt you think that the safest pokerroom is safer than the safest sportsbook?

If a poker site has decent volume, I can't imagine they'd shut the doors.

If they have no ties to any other book\site and are very dead......I wouldn't be leaving a whole lot sitting there.

I myself think its not a good idea to leave large sums of money in either sportsbook or poker site. Its cyberspace an anything can happen. Besides the paper trail is bad enough on smaller amounts, not to mention the larger ones. JMHO

Probably safer, but why bother doing it? Best to keep money out of the poker room and use it to generate bonuses in other rooms you are willing to play at.

Since poker rooms aren't "gambling" where sportsbooks are, a high profile poker room offers the least risk for your money. There's one poker room out there...forget which one...that offers 10% interest on your money over $1000.

Im not big on bonuses. I just want a good room with good software and bad players. I found that. Just want to stay at this one place.

Steer clear of Poker room. Requested a $300 payout a week ago, still havn't gotten it. Should have taken 1 day, but some kind of security issue. They requested that I fax valid I.d. to a given international fax number. Tried faxing my I.D. for 3 days but no answer on their end. I called them and was told the fax doesn't always work and they did't have another fax #. What a joke. Guess it's time to start bashing pokerroom.com.

There are plenty of reasons to have different poker accounts, however none of those reasons include the safety of your money.

PS- Pokerroom.com is a joke. I spent 2 weeks trying to DEPOSIT.
