THINK about this possible WAGER/LINE on the COLTS

This crossed my mind lastnight as I was munching on my sunflower seeds and spitting the shells into the intercoastal waters of Clearwater Beach.

Imagine the COLTS are 16-0 headed into the season finale at home vs the Cardinals.

There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the COLTS will do everything possible to ensure they will remain undefeated(not resting starters).

Having said that, will they not try to get a HUGE lead in the 1st half of this game, so therefore they can cruise and rest their starters?

That is my belief and that got me thinking as to what the 1st half line will be in this game.

Please, would love to hear opinions on what this line will be.

Of the opinion that anything at -10 or less is a tremendous bargain.

My personal belief is that it will be higher.

Anyway, your thoughts not on only what the line will be, but what you think about my thought process on liking the Colts in this spot for the 1st half.

Thanks

Good points, Fish. The second half line will also be interesting, but certainly like your take on the possible situation.

Well the Colts will have a bye week anyway so playing most of that game in a normal mode isn't that unrealistic either.

Do you seriously think they will adjust their game plan to try and bury the Cards early, i just don't see it...then agan they could bury them anyway.

I just don't think the mindset coming into any NFL game you're trying to win, can be altered, that game would be extremely important, I can't see them thinking past it, if they are still undefeated.

For what, a few extra plays here and there?

Cannot believe so many people think the COLTS are going to lay down in their effort to stay undefeated.

This is a HUGE piece of NFL history they are striving for!

Every player in that lockerroom wants to go undefeated!

im sure the players do. but, dungy knows what the real prize is. his head would be on the chopping block so fast if manning got hurt in wk 16 trying to go undefeated.

Agree with Blue. And as a Colts fan, I'll be pissed if they play full-tilt with their roster in the final few games. An undefeated regular season is not worth risking your Superbowl chances over.

Laying down and playing NOT to get hurt may just do that........risk their Superbowl chances.

Play the game the way it is meant to be played.

Momentum is a GREAT GIFT, don't lose it.

The COLTS need to be men, and think they will be, win or lose.

Like Ditka said on tv the other day....who remembers who won the Superbowl 15 years ago or 20 years ago....everyone remembers the Dolphins going unbeaten. Colts should play for this record.

Dungy has already said he will rest his guys once home field advantage is wrapped up. As he put it you don't get rings for 16-0.

This would be just like the ULTRA conservative Dungy.

However, think he is bluffing.

I dont see it Fish. I think Indy and every team for that matter always tries to get a huge lead in the first half or whenever. Teams dont every try not to get a huge lead. I dont see any extra value on that situation. Now if you knew that the Cards would love to see Indy go 16-0 for some reason as inside info then yes but I doubt that is the case.

Beginning to hope this occurs........the COLTS being 16-0 headed into their final game of the season.

So far, more individuals are not perceiving this as me, which may be a good thing gambling wise.

You cannot go into an NFL game with the idea you're going to beat another NFL team so badly you will be able to rest the 2nd half...that is when mistakes happen.

As I recall last season, the Colts backups played pretty well too.....they could beat the Cards with backups

Plus, the COLTS cannot be concerned with this now.

They must go be the old adage...........TAKE IT ONE GAME AT A TIME.

I'll take that bet my friend ! If the Colts are 14-0 going into the last 2 games, I seriously doubt if He rests his regular players. It would be a huge mistake anyway as I have seen this strategy back fire so many times !:toast:
