I think we all could ue a kick in the arse from time to time, and this question may just do it.

Was thinking on the way back today, while sitting at a red light, what If I wonly live 50, and have a little more than a decade left?

What would I be doing, what would anybody be doing if they knew they had a certain amount of time to live, if we knew when we expired.

50 years is too long to make someone think about it. Hell, have the posters here don't have 50 years left in their ticker.

Make it a year or two, then that would cause some concern. Overall, I wouldn't do anything different if it be 1 year to 50 years. What I am working on takes time, and if my clock expires by then, it was meant to be.

No Bigbet, I mean 50 total years! So if you're 40 you have 10 years left.

Not 50 more years... Shoot, I may not have 50 years left in me even....I might have 5, things that make you go hmmmm.

A bunch of things I really need to be doing now

spend as much time possible with my kid (which I do) and other loved ones, even the ones that annoy me.

Teach my kid the right way, tell him what my mistakes were when I was younger, and tell him not to make those mistakes.

Travel a little bit, enjoy the small things in life, Don't get all bent out of shape about mundane issues, ect..

Get my financial house in order, so I can leave something behind. If I pass on when I'm 50, by kid will be 23 by then and hopefully be ready to lead the family.

For some reason, I've always imagined I had 100 years, and that mind set will make most people feel like they have plenty of time...I think we all could use a sense of urgency, too many wasted moments.

I guess it all depends what's important. :icon_conf

How do you know my moments are wasted? Or what is important in my life? If I had kids, my answer may change, but setting a time limit on my life is not going to rush what I am working on now. Progress takes time, and if my clock expires, it was meant to be.

Tomorrow is promised to no one, let alone reaching 50. Many, many things can occur unexpectedly that can change your life forever at any time. Live your life while you have it, but don't be reckless as if there is no tomorrow.

i was in my early 40's

Good way to look at your life....Get tape measure...stretch it out to 76 inches, that is average life of USA male...For every inch represents a year...Put your finger on your age..you can see what is left on front of you and whats behind you....it will FREAK you out !!
