...what the money line was for the USA to beat Russia in the 1980 Olympics.....I just finished watching "Miracle", for the 10th time, and recall hearing the announcer in the game saying the U.S team was a huge underdog. The gambler in me instantly thought, "How much of an underdog were they"........lol.

I have no idea no idea but considering that Russia had not lost a game in years and the U.S. team was a bunch of college kids...i would put the underdog line somewhere around +1000.......any thoughts, ideas, or even better, FACTS?

Russisa opened at -1100 and was bet up to -2300 or so. I grabbed a peice of USA +1800 for a dime. Boy that party lasted about a couple of days.

Bigshot, he is bullshittin you. I imagine if you could have found a line it would have been in Europe and higher than that. What were the odds on that corn-fed wrestler from out west who beat the heavywieght Russian legend? I'd say there were odds on that and they to were high.

what would you guys have set the line at before the tourney started?

I would suggest USA should have been around 22/1 or something like that....

i guess thats what kind of info i am looking for, seems the consensus is that there wasnt a line, but what do you think the line was, for the game itself and for the U.S. to win before the tourney?
