Its simply amazes me how some of these college kids sit at the table for the very first time and win on absolute bullshit

I lost half my chips on this hand:

Im holding AK suited (hearts)...i raise pre-flop...few people call. Flop comes AK8 (rainbow)...I bet...another guy raises me...so I re-raise him...everybody else folds. The turn is another 8...Im still sitting good with my 2 pair...I bet..he raises...I re-raise....then HE re-raises...Im like WTF does this dude have?! The river is a 2....so you have AK882...I call him all in....he calls it...he has 2 8 fucking offsuit! He tells me "this is my first time playing!" I told him "yea no shit, I can tell"....how the hell do you stay on 2 8 offsuit when your raised pre-flop?

Shoulda had a hammer pot on this hand:

I have A 10 suited (clubs)...again I raise pre-flop and a few people call. Flop comes A 10 10...I flop a fucking boat..Im toot-tooting my way to victory...I bet...the dude accross from me raises me! WTF? So I re-raise him...he calls. The turn is a 5..I bet..he re-raises...I re-raise...he calls...River comes a 7...I bet...he raises...I re-raise...he calls it...I flip my A 10 over...he flips an A 10 over....you believe that shit?!?!

ugh...I hate the casino...

on the first hand, i dunno if i would have re-raised when he raised your turn bet. you're behind in the hand if he has a single 8 and that's what he was representing.

I agree, that AK play was horrible

Bad poker players LOVE to blame losing on things other than their play.

You shouldn't stop playing; you should improve your game. Off the top of my head it seems that your biggest leak is not considering what your opponent is holding. How they play the hand should alert you to dangerous situations, or at least identify the real idiots.

Here are a couple more tips: Don't insult the new players and don't tell bad beat stories.

What is a "hammer pot" by the way?
