I am sure a mostly male, middle aged website such as the RX may also have some Stern followers...lol. For those that didn't know, he is on 60 Minutes tonight, matter of fact, it's coming on in a few mins....

If you call $100 million/year for 5 years washed up...

missed the 60 minutes piece but the guy just signed a $500 million contract with Sirius and it's estimated he's got almost 15 million listeners

like him or not, he's definitely not "washed up"

15 million? Either Mediaweek is terribly off-base on their calculations of Arbitrons or Howie is spreading more misinformation for his listeners to eat up. It wouldn't be the first time and I know it won't be the last.

Uh I am one, will be following him to Satellite, and think he is absolutely brilliant. 15 million is being conservative I think.

If brilliance is asking the same questions for the last 15 years, ranting and raving about the supposed government conspiracy against him because he's so important, and paranoid ramblings are brilliant, then yes I guess he is.

I listened to him from the late 80's until right around 2000. I couldn't take him anymore because of the reasons mentioned above. Did he change the face of radio? Without a doubt the answer is yes. Is he relevant or funny anymore? Hardly. Although he is funny when he wears his hip-hop clothing.

he is the farthest thing from funny.. he is surrounded by a group of idiots.

i'm not sure why robin has her own desk , she belongs under his with her mouth full..

artie lang is worthless .

he has to be sitting back laughing his ass off at the fact that so many people waste their time listening to his " show " ...

be sure to tune in first thing tomorrow when howard asks his porn star guest is she likes it in the ass ... it will be the 1 millionth time its been asked..

I think he's great.

To me, the best part of the show is when they read the news and comment on it. After that I enjoy the interviews and the general bull sessions he has, sometimes with a guest that stays on the whole show. Plus they pull some great bits on celebrities.

The stripper stuff is fun, especially the robo-spanker, but if you think that's what he's about, you're not getting it.

I find his show hilarious and i know plenty of people that listen to him and i know a bucnh of people who recently got sirius because of the stern move. I highly doubt that sirius would pay him 100 million a year if they didnt think he had a high listening audience. And i am sure they will lose money on the deal in the first few years, but what they are banking on is stern bringing in people who will fall in love with sirius' other programming.

Stern is not for everyone, but does it for millions of people

And artie lang is f-ckiing hilarious.

They need to pick up a one million listeners to break even, seems very plausible.

I am shopping for one.

If you own SIRI stock sell sell sell no way will Stern produce the numbers to generate his salary.

Most Stern listeners cant afford cable TV and still live at home with their parents so they wont be paying the monthly fee for SIRI
