I thought I heard Dungy was talking about resting his starters.

The point is there is NO CHANCE IN EGYPT the COLTS will not do everything in their power to defeat the Cards in game #16 if undefeated.

Think of this scenario........

Colts trailing 23-20 with 10 min. remaining in the 4th in this game.

NO WAY the COLTS do not pull out all the plugs to win this game at this point...........if they do not and lose, they would be the laughing stock of the league for years and they would be so ridiculed that they would not be able recover in time to win the Superbowl.

Having said that, the COLTS have THREE tough games ahead of them in....

JAX
SD
SEA

The SEA game, if they are still undefeated at that stage, is the game most everybody should be wondering about as far as the status of the Colts starters.

We already know that the Colts are favored by 7 1/2 in the games with Jax and also the Chargers ! I have said all along the biggest threat will probably be Seattle and I feel certain this line will be under a TD but over a field goal ! What's your opinion ?

Can't get a grip on that line Fish. I'm sure the linesmakers will have to give it a good bit of thought.

Tony is essentially a very conservative man. To finish the season undefeated but somehow lose the Superbowl would just add to his legacy of never winning the big one.....in fact it would be an incredibly brutal thing to have happen to him. The pressure would be unreal. Losing before the playoffs would lessen that pressure for sure.

But then there's MO to think about.

Think a loss at Seattle may not be to bad for them.......if they half-ass go through the motions in their loss.

However, NO WAY they can afford to lose at home to ARI in the season finale at home if undefeated.

His legacy would probably be tainted just as bad if He went 18-1 and won the Super Bowl but lost a game because He didn't have the guts to play his regulars ! If He lost to Seattle let's say fair and square... nothing to be sorry about but to give the Seahawks an easy victory would be very much scrutinized forever !

IMO there's a much better than 25% chance this whole discussion becomes a moot point after this Sunday.

In the long run this might be a good thing for The Horse and rider both.

Anyone who thinks the Colts will rest starters if they have a chance to go undefeated is completely crazy. This would be a bigger accomplishment (as far as the public memory goes) than winning the Super Bowl. I know the Colts players will say all the right things but there is no doubt they will want this record badly. Tony Dungy will do everything in his power to achieve this as well. Dungy on more than one occassion has questioned the leagues dedication to hiring black's in both coaches and executive roles. Being a black coach he will see this as a major blow against racism.

I heard a Las Vegas sportsbook supervisor on the radio say that it has been all one sided action on the Colts +600 to go undefeated. This was a few weeks ago. Go Colts!

Whats funny is that in his voice you could tell he thought it was free money for the house as no way the Colts would go undefeated. Now he is shitting in his pants.

Yes, another sports book director hitting the likes of the homeless if this one comes in. Damnit, he should have called me before putting up the odds. I could have saved his job but he forgot to comp me at the good restaurant.

Seattle game is very interesting. That could be a scenario where the Colts are thinking decent shot we might face them again and don't want to show them anything special. Same for the Jax and SD games.
