Guy had ZERO big hits and committed 30 errors.

Most of all, the guy acted more like a robot than John Olerud.

Have some emotion for goodness sakes.........your a shortstop.

As mentioned, worse SS with Boston in 30 years, maybe history.

Luis Rivera in 1990 the year Boston won the east was a dream at SS. The guy hit .225 with 7 home runs and 45 rbi's in 120 games for Boston that year so he was a starter, plus he didn't even have speed. So yeah Luis Rivera wins this one atleast over Renteria

Spike had a load of big hits ...........and he had a pulse.

don't remeber too many big hits, his biggest claim to fame was being Roger Clemens old Texas Longhorns teammate

I think the Rocket fanned him 2 or 3 times in his 20 strikeout game

Won't miss rentareck 1 bit if that is what you are implying.

My only dissapointment in this whole deal is we also dished off Hanley :icon_conf

I swear, one time BIG PAPI gave him a big slap on the back for doing something well and Renteria had no idea what for.

Well, as I already said, Renteria flatout sucking for the Sox is true, but Boston fans shouldn't be surprised if he does a 290-20-80 season with 9 errors in Atlanta.

renteria had a shitty year...kind of glad too as he sold out from the birds for just a million or two more. Had to deal with Sox fans riding his ass all year. Change of scenery might be a good thing and will probably be hearing all you Sox fans bitch and moan next year about how good a year he is having, why couldn't he do it last year, etc. Got to see him win 2 gold gloves and a couple silver slugger awards as well as being one of the best clutch hitters in the game while in St Louis. Very happy with Eckstein now for about 8 million less dollars and had a way better year than Renteria!

While Rentaria may have been bad last year, its not fair to rate him on one season. His season last year was better than Nomars last year or two. I think the problem was that the Red Sox let Cabrera walk. Although he was with the team for a few months, I think he was one of the better all around SS the Red Sox have had. He made clutch hits and was a vacuum in the field.
