So, there are still lots of transactions to be made before next season, but I thought I'd run a sim with rosters current as of today on my XBox. I don't put much stock in this, but it's fun to see what the computer spits out. Here are the results:

Significant long-term or season-ending injuries that would have an effect on the standings:

Mike Hampton
Bruce Chen
Jason Varitek
Barry Zito
Carlos Silva
Doug Mirabelli

NL MVP: Bonds .354, 42HR, 122 RBI, 136 R
NL Cy Young: P.Martinez 17-7, 1.85 ERA
AL MVP: Damon .304, 31HR, 100 RBI, 160 R, 30 SB
AL Cy Young: B. Radke 15-9, 3.12 ERA (???)

interested in who you selected as the Cubs starting corner OFers that lead them to a 96-66 season? Would love 96 wins for the Cubs, btw.

Cubsmac, I made a mistake when I said "current rosters as of today". I traded players and dropped them and resigned them to their new teams, but I left a lot of guys on their teams from last year (until I know where they end up) - like Burnitz. So, that's why I said I'll run the sim again when it's more clear where everyone's going to start 2006.

So, to answer your question, the Cubs outfield consisted of Pierre, Patterson, and Burnitz.

Find the obvious error. Seriously, you sure you didn't get NYM & ATL the other way around while pasting? Cause Braves @ 70 wins for the season? May I have the overs for 10k, please;o))))

In other words, all off-season signings to this point are current in the simulation.

Damon with over 30 dingers, yeah right! When was the last time a leadoff man got 100 RBIs? Maybe Microsoft is waiting to release a "no roids" version :lolBIG:

Did you simulate who got nailed for Steroids? Eckstein?

Bonds, another MVP. Even as a simulated award, it's annoying. But probably deserved.

I'm guessing the Jays new players weren't confirmed, they should do better than 30 games under .500
