Iowa fans.....third place in state isn't so bad

I remember when I was a sophomore, we got 2nd in state. Losing the state title game hurt, but eventually you learn to accept it and celebrate it. So 3rd in state can't be so bad either, after you have time to think about it.

Look at this years top three schools in the state...........NORTHERN IOWA, IOWA,and IOWA STATE are having in both basketball and football.

Football

IOWA---NEW YEARS BOWL BOUND YET AGAIN
IOWA STATE---BOWL BOUND
NORTHERN IOWA---1-AA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME NEXT WEEK

Basketball

NORTHERN IOWA---Currently 14th RPI and MVC conference favorite
IOWA---Legit top 20 team and Big Ten contender
IOWA STATE---Great homecourt and Big Dance bound.

WHAT A YEAR FOR THE PANTHERS OF NORTHERN IOWA!!!

Also, the majority of Hawkeye fans highly touted the Cyclones lastnight here at TheRX laying the small number at home vs a Hawkeye team playing without their starting PG.

Thanks, Fish. You are right, when you say it's been a great year for all three schools. Iowa losing at Northern Iowa and at Iowa State certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Many more teams will lose at those venues this season. And the next few weeks will be exciting for football fans, with the Panthers in the AA championship, the Cyclones in the Houston Bowl and the Hawks in the Outback Bowl.

Top 20 does not get you a big ten championship, the big ten champion will be top 5 more likely (i'm thinking illinois or michigan state). Iowa is overrated big time, they will finish no higher than 4th in big ten.
