Going to I-AA Championship Game for the first time ever.

With this and the Hawkeyes and Cyclones going to Bowl games it looks like the new Powerhouse Football State is Iowa!!!

Northern Iowa has defeated three number one teams this season and has won every playoff game, including two on the road, by three points. Two of the wins have come in overtime. GO PANTHERS. :suomi:

Was thinking about it, too-- until I found out that the game is at 8 PM Friday night... I have a friend in Atlanta who thinks he will make the trip...Course its 1.5 hours for him...:lolBIG:

If it was on Saturday night, the first few beers were on me for anyone showing up....
Its only a 10.5 hour drive from the Quads........:smoker2:

N. IOWA Makes Championship Game.......

only to LOSE to APP ST!

I went to the APP ST/FURMAN game this weekend & that team is Good! I was pulling for The Furman Paladins, as my Uncle went to school w/ Ingle Martin's Father. Martin is The Paladin's QB. Also I know The WR for Furman, J. Stepp as he is a hometown boy that went to Pelion HS. Furman is a very good team and APP St was too tough.

Sorry Iowa Guys, I just see APP State taking this one!

Really feel UNI has a pretty good shot here....App St lost their starting QB to injury last week...don't know if he'll be back. UNI comes from the best conference in I-AA and as Hawk171 pointed out, they have beat three different #1s this year. Both teams have one common opponent in Southern Illinois...they both beat SIU. UNI's had 3 losses....one being to IOWA and the other two coming without starting QB Eric Sanders in the lineup as he was injured. He was leader in the nation I believe in pass efficiency. He was leading at one point and I know he led the Gateway Conference in that area...anyone who watched game last week saw he was pretty good...completed first 9 passes onway to a career high 417 yards on 24-31 passing. Running back, David Horne, was a part time starter at Nebraska before transferring to UNI when Callahan took over as coach. He has rushed for over 1000 yards in ten games and has 18 or 19 TDs. Very good squad here...didn't watch the App St game so I don't know what they have...maybe a 2nd string QB starting!!

Sets up for a high scoring game. Both teams seem to have very good offenses and so far in the playoffs, it looks like offense rules.

Yes he did, and at that time.........he had led APP ST to a 14-0 Lead!

And after that Furman took control...only to lose in the last minute!

Really, I'll be pulling for all of you Iowa Guys....as APP ST knocked my team out! App St is Loaded on offense though..The OVER maybe a Good Play!

Any Lines out on This Game???
