Steelers have a 3rd and 3 which they don't convert somewhere around there own 45...they get whistled for offensive pass interference and for some odd reason the Bears take the penalty instead of forcing Pitt to punt...

Pitt converts the follwing 3rd down and goes on to score a TD?

Why do you give them a 2nd shot at converting the 3rd down?

Yeah, I was wondering too. Actually, I think it would have been 4th and about 1 yard. But it was on Pitt's 45 or so, can't imagine they would have gone for it.

thought i was crazy too....

Reciever was a full yard at least, short of first down, it looked, and next thing i knew, pitt was going for it on 3rd and 13, Chicago acted as if, they never even considered declining the penaly....Maybe the press about their defense is getting to them as well.......

Finally though, their weak offense is being exposed, as they arent getting fumbles and int's for 1 yard td drives......

I switched games came back and Pitt has a 1st down...no way Pitt goes for it there IMO...especially the way Cowher has been blowing those calls with Pitt in control...

Any onside Kicks by cowher yet...He messed any chance the steelers had with that bonehead call on MNF against Indy.

i was thinking the same thing. of course, the clueless announcers don't say a word about it. I like moose johnston, though, and thought he'd mention it.

wierd.

This Bears team has had more lucky bounces than any team I can recall.

Hopefully today, the bounces go vs. them.

With the number of defensive penalties that give automatic first down in NFL, I would not give a team another down that was already out of FG range.

They just asked the coach about it (watching the post game interview live) and he said he wasn't sure if they would go for it or not but his main reason for accepting the penalty was because he felt this was a field position game and he was looking to improve field position.

:icon_conf

He also said there will not be a QB change and he thought Orton played "very well today" and "did a lot of good things".

Wow...you can only ask your defense to do so much. Fortunately for them, their schedule isn't TOO difficult. They should win 2 of their last 3...I hope they don't, but they SHOULD. Their chances would be much better with Grossman in the lineup, though.

NEVER give a team another chance to make a 1st down their side of the field...NO was Pitt goes for it there, no way...It was a field position game for them too! They need a good yard and a half.

that was unbelievable...does ANYONE have the smallest CLUE why the bears ( dumbasses) would not take a punt from pitt and accept that penalty??
