Kickers Missing FGs Raises a Good Question...

After the inexplicable crunchtime misses by kickers this season, I'm reminded of an issue that is rarely discussed...Skip Bayless actually brings this up every year, but he seems to be the only one:

Should the NFL just get rid of FGs and extra points and make teams go for it on 4th downs? Or just have punters?

Bayless' argument is that REAL athletes play their hearts out and kill themselves for wins...only to have the outcome of the game decided by a kicker who's only on the field for a few plays per game, just to do one thing...and the only non-athlete playing in the game. Is it really fair for them to decide the outcome of the game, instead of the real players?

What do you think?

Problem with that is you would have to change the name of the game from FOOTball.

Hello all! Luv this site and my first post. You are all cool, and I love to read all your posts..

I hear ya on the kickers, but nothin pisses me off more than when a team cant put the ball in the end zone. I say if your kicker missed, tough shit. You had your chance to put it in the end zone, or convert a 3rd down.

Well know that I think about it, it only pisses me of when its the team I got money on.

I hate the NFL overtime.... I like the 4 point rule for OT propose by some writer...First one to 4 wins in overtime this way a team cant make one big play in OT and kick a FG to win the game...since other team would get the ball...If after 15 minutes in reguar season OT if no team has hit 4 the team winning 3-0 wins the game or if its 0-0 or 3-3 its a tie.

In post season keep playing until someone gets to 4 points or more.
