Dr.Pepper said:Sure, cause in baseball injuries mean nothing. If that were the case, whose the clear cut favorite? I think Chi Sox would be a safe bet. But let's be real here...the last back to back MLB champion? 1962. Couple that fact with injuries that actually kill clubs by mid-season, and your "odds" are aren't looking too pretty. Oh and Thome? You speak of Thome like he is the next coming of Mark McGuire during his farewell tour. Fact of the matter is, with your thinking, Frank Thomas should put up 40 HR this year as a DH in Oakland as well. Translation : Not going to happen.
for what it's worth...white sox will do well...best starting rotation in baseball...2nd best bullpen behind the angels...the addition of thome is not going to hurt...big question is can thome stay healthy...is he getting to a point in his career that he can't overcome the injuries.beating.vegas said:thome had a bad back last year, if he is healthy at 90%, he will be in the top 3 of dh's.
and they say he is feeling better than he ever has...comeback player of the year, the mvp of the league (should of been, got robbed); and that homerun he hit in the playoffs was incredible, and the best pitching staff to boot
done deal guys, stop fighting it and get your 10-1 odds:toast:
i'll take a 65% thome over carl everett any day of the week.
