Going through some old papers and files to discard this morning, I stumbled upon this that I cut out about five years ago. Thought it was worth posting.

1. Professional Gamblers make their living by gambling and thus consider it a profession. They are skilled at the games they choose to play and are able to control both the amount of money and time spent gambling. Thus, professional gamblers are not addicted to gambling. They patiently wait for the best bet and then try to win as much as they can.

I cut out and threw away the descriptions of the other five types and don't even remember what they were...fortunately.

It doesn't really matter. Because there are only really two types of gamblers; winners are losers. You already identified the main trait of a winning gambler--one that doesn't need the action for the sake of it, and can patiently wait for an edge. IMO there are those guys (about 1%) and everyone else (the other 99%).
