Circled games were usually do the fact that some player, or players were questionable at the time the linemaker was trying to hang up a number. Now this information is as quick as one click away!

Notice now days they just dont put up a number until they know who is where.
Clemson and Colorado bowl game was being held up for the questionable QB's for both sides. Now that coaching vancancy is there, no telling what they will do with it?

Well those games that ended still in the circle had to do with game time deceisions on players, i think?

Yes ...but my point is we never see a game ending in a circle, I guess it comes down to more up to the 2nd information, it wasn't that long ago though, games never came off the circle.

Well "back then" they mave have not updated the original number so the board looked the same. I used to see this at the Stardust back in the late 80's and early 90's when i was there alot.

games not being in a circle anymore has to do with one thing

BIG OFFSHORE CASINOS that like in the movie two for the money,

COULD care less about a player or a weather condition to change a spread, they jsut want your MILLIONS in DOLLARS of revenue!!!!

OFFSHORE took away all the fear from the Bookmaker, and now there are lines up two days, sometimes weeks before the games go off.

The circle is the same fear mentallity that a local cannot afford to get smacked, and this is also the same reason that games USED to in the OLD DAYS of LOSERVILLE, did not come up until 10:30am of Gameday.

Now gambling is money ,management, and option management. Offshore also has taught, or should have taught some....that the lines very rarley impact anything in the final outcome.

The circle was a "Limit" tag to protect the small BOOK industry this ONCE WAS

Look at your over 30 little 2mm by 3 mm advertisers you have all over your board........AND THAT SHOULD TELL YOU WHY YOU HAVE NO CIRCLE

Offshore gambling has made this a flea market of gambling. If YOU want to sell your goods, you better be jsut as good as the next guy

and having circles would show weakness, and anyone with college math, can tell you those casinos could care less about an injury or a line change, their customers that are that sharp are far and few between, Bring in the Money first !!!! Worry about a circLE later if it all!!!

Newport...Yes you are correct about the circle and the limits. Back then some places in LV would make you lay 6-5 instead of 11-10 also. I know that in the NBA season of 90 i was at the Stardust trying to move some money on a Pro team that was in the circle. Clerk told me that 2500 was all they would take on "that" circled game. Then supervisor came over an said if you want "more" you can lay 6-5 for another 2500.
