Looks like Ron Artest may very well be on his way out of Indiana. Any thoughts on which team might be interested. The Warriors seem to have some interest. Shipping maybe Mike Dunleavy and Adonal Foyle for Ron Artest and Jeff Foster. The numbers are a wash with the Pacer two earning $11.8 million and the Warrior two earning $11.9 million. Any other takers?

If I owned a team , I wouldnt touch the guy..

He's good , but not good enough to put up with all the baggage..

Maybe the Oakland Raiders have room...

Whatever team picks him up will prove they are without a doubt the dumbest franchise in the league....

He is the Terrell Owens of the NBA

He may be even worse...he does not care about winning.

This guy asked for time off last year so he could make a rap CD.

The guy was great when he was with the Bulls. Minimal problems, nothing like he has had in Indy. How could a team not be interested. He is one of the top defensive players in the league. He also has drastically improved offensively from his early Bull days. I think with a change of scenery he could flourish and leave all this baggage behind.

Seattle has made a call to indiana as well-----------------------------------

Sonics makes Artest inquiry, says source

By Percy Allen
Seattle Times staff reporter
Ron Artest a Sonic?

A source has confirmed that the team has made calls to the Indiana Pacers about the oft-maligned forward.

General manager Rick Sund declined to comment on Tuesday, but acknowledged that rumors will continue to circulate about every team in the league until Artest is moved.

Co-captains Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis said they wouldn't be opposed to adding a player with Artest's checkered past.

"I think anybody would be welcomed until they prove otherwise," Allen said. "Whatever situations happened for a player in another city and for another team doesn't matter to me. I accept them for what they bring to the situation and how they act when they get here."

Said Lewis: "If anything, guys wonder more if they're going to be the one who gets traded and not wondering what it would be like to have him on your team. He's a good player at my position. It's just in the back of your mind. There's probably a lot of forwards in the league wondering if it's going to be them.

"Because if he wants to be moved and they say they're going to move him, he can't be traded for nothing. You got to get somebody for him and you got to get a pretty good player. It may never happen, but I never want to say never."

If the Sonics were to make an offer, it might include Vladimir Radmanovic, a 6-foot-10 three-point specialist, and possibly Reggie Evans or Ronald Murray, whose contracts expire this season.

If the guy isn't happy in Indiana which is basketball heaven and the Pacers run a great team even after he screwed up there season last year the kid isn't going to be happy anywhere no matter how many pills he takes. He'll go to a new team everything will be fine for the first year then blow up next year.

Have you guys watched Dunleavy and Foyle? They both would be lucky to average 8 mins a game in Indy, two lousy players with insane contracts. Especially Foyle, the world could see how ridiculous that was when they agreed to give a guy lucky to get 10 points in a game a big fat contract that will hobble the franchise for years. Artest is a massive upgrade if the Warriors can pull that off, even if he isn't good for the locker room. Otherwise for 5 years the Warriors will be trying to figure out how they can make noise in the playoffs when a large part of the cap is eaten up by a guy that can't shoot, can't run, and can only block shots.

You're absolutely right. If you can't be happy in Indiana, you're not going to be happy in any other city where teams occasionally get booed.

He should sign up with And1 and hit the road with them- that way he could get his rapping career going too and if he ever beat up the loudmouthed announcer, I would cheer for him.

I heard the the Calgary Stampede of the CFL offered $73 bucks (Canadian) for him. Gonna send him trips right with Andre Rison & TO... If that doesn't work out the Stampede are gonna have the 3 cut a rap album and send them on tour.... Good source I tell ya.....

Let's be honest, the guy is a monster defender and puts up MVP numbers when he's trying. I wouldn't say teams are "crazy" to go after him. Willing to take a calculated risk, maybe, but comparing him to TO is a little over the line IMO

Sorry Ted... Just couldn't resist the attempt at some light humor....

Gave me a good chuckle. I like it. Jimmy V said in the ESPY Awards in 1993 when his body was ravaged with tumors, if each day we can laugh, we can think, and we can cry, it's a full day.

ESPN just reported that up to 17 teams are interested in Artest!

If I was a team like Dallas who may be missing that one piece I would take a shot at him if I could trade him for 50 cents on the dollar cause the guy is a talent, actually plays D and doesn't treat it like its a four letter word. However once the season is done and if there is no ring I would ship him out of town during the summer.
