Betbug.com -- no one is using it.

WTF is up with betbug?

It's a wasteland.

NO ONE is using this site.

As far as betting exchanges go, betbug is a ghosttown. It seems the only money available is seeded by betbug.com itself; typically 500 on sides and 200 on the ML.

Betbug is on its way out of business if they continue as they are.

More info available...

DougJ, I agree.

I want betbug to succeed!

The more exchanges the better, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, betbug suffers at least a few fatal flaws:

1. the software is very limiting.

2. their marketing sucks. For example, anyone who visits betbug.com with any worthwhile ad-blocking heuristic enabled in their browser, or similar, never gets to see the DOWNLOAD software link.

3. There's no money in the market, no liquidity.

Hey betbug here's how to fix it:

1. re-design your software to allow LIVEBETTING. Livebetting is a valuable asset exchanges have over regualar books.

2. Get rid of the ad-tracking linking so that web-savvy users may easily7 download your software.

3. Go the matchbook route: forget the software download.

there more...

I REALLY want them to succeed. they have a great premise. People are nuts not to get involved with a place where the juice is so low. Are they well financed
? TVG lost 20 million a year in the beginning, and are now finally crawling out. If these guys have staying power, they may do well. IMO, hard for any company to come into the business now, as there are over 3000 ot hers in business.

I can get down nickles with them, and they pay fast. I really don't care if they are booking the bets. If they are a lame exchange, then which one is great? I would love to know. Maybe I am dumb, but I like betbug.:monsters-

You probably won't get the answer you're looking for on that question.

The original thread title was "Betbug is a ghostown "- I took out "is a ghostown" becasue I don't believe it is fair to Betbug or anyone who might already be playing there. Everything else in the thread is still intact. Again I contacted Jason at Betbug for comment, maybe we can get their side of the issue.

Any exchange that welcomes American money via NETELLER is good by me, for example, betbug.

If you are looking to bet a nickel on the day of a game, then everything is fine.

However, if you're looking to bet a nickel a week before the game, then too bad.

Or, if you're looking to scalp too bad.

BetBug treats sports betting as though it were an .mp3 transfer.

They treat it as if someone somewhere thinks: I want "Team X +100"

Betbug then attempts to connect another betbud user who 'owns' 'team x +100' to the user who requests it; it's as if the two were trading songs!

Unfortunately, there's not enough people offering hundred or thousand dollars per wager to match 'em up as though they were trading a few megs of data.

Wilheim, I agree. That's fine by me.

I don't mean to imply any undue editing.

Without a doubt betbug should be given ample oppurtunity to reply to this thread.

Let's see what Jason has to say..

You never answered the question regarding the good exchanges out there. Could you provide insight? I want to sign up with other exchanges.

As drunkuy mentioned, Matchbook and Mansion are good exchanges.

Matchbook.com is high quality will grow very quickly (even now its easy to find ten dimes on NFL sides); there's objective evidence they are growing weekly.

Other exchanges: TRADESPORTS, BETDAQ and BETDAQ.CO.UK and BACKANDLAY.COM.

If Mansion offered LIVEBETTING they'd be on the same level with Matchbook, IMHO.

Exchanges are popular in Europe, but they're just catching on in the U.S.

One of the best features of exchanges are that they can offer livebetting odds. That is, second-by-second odds of games in progress, based second-by-second market conditions.
