Comment on Iowa State-Ohio St. today

One thing to note for bettors today. Iowa State is playing Ohio State in Des Moines today, not at Hilton Coliseum where they have a big home court advantage. It is a new venue where they have never played. It is 30 miles from Ames and they will be without students. I'm not saying I don't think they can't win, it's just a little more unknown than if they would be playing at Hilton.

Thanks for the update, but what is the reasoning behind this from the Iowa State point of view.

Great info though that many gamblers may have not been aware of.

They built a new arena in Des Moines right next to what you would remember as Vets Auditorium. It hasn't been done for more than a few months. The ISU women are playing UNI women at 4:00 and the men play at 7:00. The new AD at ISU is pissed about it. It was scheduled before he got here. Iowa State loses alot of revenue, i.e. concessions plus they're playing a good team on a neutral court. Next year they have to go to Ohio State and play on their home court so it's not really a home/home series. BTW, it's called the Wells Fargo Arena. As far as Buffalo, my experience is home dogs in December when their season is over are sucker bets. Knowing my luck and expertise, that means Buffalo will probably win outright.

The NCAA should force next years game to have to be played in Cincinnati.

Side note on the Buffalo game.

Pinnacle is very low(-350 is as low as anywhere) on the DEN moneyline, thus they have a strong lean towards buffalo and/or the sharpest of the sharpest do too also that wager there. Having said that, gonna say nay to the ML and take the very generous +9 points.

Iowa St still rolls

Iowa St will continue to maintain an impressive home court advantage, and I believe they will beat Ohio St. Iowa St year in and year out, has the best home court advantage in the nation, and those same fans will show up in force.

It will be interesting to see the game in the new arena. I can see why Iowa State's new A.D. is pissed. Ohio State can play, as they showed last week in winning at St. Joe's. But I believe Iowa State puts forth a quality effort tonight and cashes.

Hawkeye171 is one to be repected when it comes to UNI and IOWA STATE basketball and for the life of me do not understand why he even bothers with football handicapping.........or casinos for that matter.

I hope you're right. I am very concerned about ISU getting hammered inside by Ohio St. Cyclones did fine on inside against a weak front line from Iowa but they've got outrebounded about every game this year. That being said, I'd match ISU's guard court with most college teams and I think small forward Rashon Clark will be a lottery pick before he is done in Ames. I wouldn't touch this game either way and you know where my heart lies.
