NORTHERN Iowa is a very, very good team.

Probably somewhere between the 15th and 25th best team in the nation.

This didn't suprise me one bit...UNI a very very good basketball team...you guys will figure it out by tourney time!

I'll be paying attention to their next game.

My ex-roommate used to live in Cedar Falls and he was a sports nut like me so I got an earful of how UNI did every year. Didn't they win the National Championship in football one year?

He had a big purple flag with a white panther on it. I always remember that.

This year was their first ever time in the DIV 1 AA football championship.

They made the sweet SIXTEEN in baskets around 15 years ago.

They also have a very strong wrestling program......consistant top 20 program.

I'm pretty sure it was Georgia Tech that they had on the ropes in the final minute of the first round in 2004. And GT went on to get 2nd. They have been good for several years, and have almost everyone back from last year. Should win the MVC for sure.
