No Joking or Tongue-in-cheek, having a go at posters like Tinofcoco for nothing else to do, here is my thoughts.
I have been in Jman's pick 4 contest and although its a good contest, it doesnt suit me. My betting strategy is based on eliminating games that are too complex quickly and using the extra time to establish the stake on the others. A case in point was this week, I had Washington and Minnesota as plays, no others. Instead of spending more time coming to a stake and trading on Betfair in those games, I found myself , not for the first time this year, going back over games I had found no edge, to try to come up with another Two picks. Like Newport said, the pride of the contest goes above the reality, but like evereything else, it has to be put in perspective.
Only through doing the wrong moves do you find your niche, things like for me, not looking at spreads till Wednesday, checking who's bringing people in from the practice squad on Tuesdays. If the Contest doesnt effect your overall thinking then its OK, a bit like why I give up Future bets, they interferred with my weekly thinking.
