Illini-Hope all is well with you in Vegas!

Best of luck to your FIGHTING ILLINI throughout the 2005-06 campaign.

Wish you could make it to the Outback Bowl.

I don't believe I ever said cake walk, I said they were the team to beat and would win the Big 10, and had the best shot at the Final 4 of the Big Ten schools....let's see how it plays out.

Michigan State, has already played Gonzaga, Arizona, Ga Tech and B.C. that's a pretty tough schedule before the conference schedule...

BTW- I can't stand the Spartans, so this will be a challange to have to root for them now.

doing a nice job with Self's players. The problem is that he has been unable to recruit. The future does not look so bright.

No one is going to beat Illinois IN Champaign, that means they will lose a max of 3 games before the big ten tourney....

Good time to be a sports fan from the Windy City, almost as good as the New Englander's

They have looked awesome in their last two trips to Champaign, losing by 30+ both times. Thread will be bumped at no extra charge in early January. :dancefool

He did just fine recruiting at So. IL, taking them to the Sweet Sixteen, and leaving a loaded team for Chris Lowery that nearly beat Okie St in OK City in the 2nd round. Weber just signed a kid from Indiana that Coach K was drooling over. He may or may not get the players that Self could get, but I'm sure that he'll do much more with what he gets than Self did. Much, much better coach than Self, and we are so glad he left us. Nice job, Self! Keep losing at home to Richmond and Nevada, and keep losing in the first round to Bucknell. Loser. :finger23:

Ohio State has the potential to beat both of those teams on their homecourt.

False. Weber just landed the top junior shooting guard in the country, Eric Gordon, from Indianapolis, and chances are good that he'll convince another Top 5 junior, Derrick Rose, to join him. Gordon is going to be a superstar. Just hope he'll stay in college for at least 2 years. Success breeds success. Weber will be able to recruit as he has upped the stature of the program, players like him, he's proven he can coach and proven he can develop players into NBA talent. Self may have recruited Williams and Head, but Weber developed them. Illini are better off with Weber. The future is very bright. :suomi:

Good point. I've also heard it spelled that way. Damn, that defense is good. Does Grossman=SuperBowl? I think it's a real possibility.

I wouldn't bet on it, but it's certainly possible, especially if they can earn a first round bye. I think they'd win at home. But if they have to go up to Seattle that'll be tough.

No way it'll be -3. I would say around -6/-6.5.
