PMs

Any way to add the PM feature to the site? It's used on many other boards and would be a great convenience to the members.

I always wondered that about the RX. Why no PM feature. At the offshore edge we have both PM and IM features along with a live chat. This can stop the post to post conversation and keep posts on topic.APPLE

PMs have been discussed for years here at The Rx. and the main reason we have never used them is touts contacting posters privately.

Pms can be monitored. Its hard for a tout to spam because 99% of the posters hate touts. All it takes is one poster to report the spammer.

wil id just like to say at c-lo's forum we allow touts to post in the promo forum just as you do here and theres NEVER been a report of a tout contacting another poster. a couple other forums have a PM option and ive not seen it happen at those places either. this is without question the most progressive forum in the world. why not give it a 30 day trial and see what happens? the worst that could happen is you blow some braindead tout out of here just for stupidity alone.

I will post a thread in the board room and get feedback from all of the mods and advisory board members - if it is positive towards PMs I will take it to Rx. managment and ask for approval.

Thanks, wil. Hopefully, it will pass. It's a great feature that will also enable people to converse while keeping their email address private.

great point. i know i would rather question someones record or anything else privatly rather than putting them on the spot publickly(it could be a oversite). i would ban any service that used it.

can't you put them on ignore like in the profiles it has a buddy list and an ignore option, or would that have no effect with the pms?

Gitty, to be honest I don't know if you can ignore PM's If I had to guess I would say yes. We have never had them here and I have no experience how our software would treat ignore.

Thanks for your interest, I will say again, right now I do not see PMs coming to The Rx. in the near future.
