I heard a great suggestion that the commisioner needs to use for the Reggie Bush bowl.

Its clear that both teams will try to lose this game on purpose. So what they need to do before the game is to flip a coin at midfield for the right to have the 1st pick. Its the only smart thing to do.

I will have a big play on the under.:money8: :money8: :money8:

There's one guy that won't be tanking that game, and it's Domanick Davis. He'll be 1) looking to prove he's good enough to convince the Texans to trade the pick, and 2) looking to get a W to ensure that the Texans won't have the opportunity to prove they are that dumb.

Might want to look at the over on a prop bet for DD that game...

How about declaring before the game that the winner gets Reggie Bush, not the loser?

Ok. Everyone has to think about this for a second: why, oh, WHY would members of either team tank the game on purpose?

Can you imagine trying to talk to your guys?

"Allright guys. We need a losing effort out there today, so that we can bring in some new rookies to replace your asses, thereby firing you. Ok: let's go out there and DO IT!"

This is absolutely ridiculous talk that either team will want to tank the game. The players will want the game film to show them in a good light, not to mention be fighting fortheir current jobs. The coaches (Dom Capers, for instance), will be fighting to show that they are good coaches, so that they can find work elsewhere later. Neither team is going to tank this game. To say so is ridiculous and an insult to sport of football.

The Niners haven't tanked any games yet. There still playing as hard as they can. Don't expect them to let down. As for the Texans, Capers has indicated they are trying to win every game they can. Hard to say which team may win this one, but it won't be for a lack of trying.

The race to worst place can't get started fast enough for the Texans and the 49ers. The two teams square off this Sunday in San Francisco, and should the Texans lose, they assure themselves the first overall pick in the 2006 draft. A Texans win would give the 49ers an outside hope at "earning" the coveted top spot.
With so much on the line, is it any surprise that both teams have already told key starters to sit this game out? Yes, we're (mostly) joking.
The Texans sent running back Domanick Davis to the injured reserve on Wednesday. Davis, who has missed the last two games, had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair an area irritated in recent weeks by inflammation. In missing Sunday's grand finale, Davis, who has 976 yards on the ground this season, will not eclipse the 1,000-yard rushing milestone for the third straight year.
To make matters worse (wink, wink), Davis' replacement, Jonathan Wells, missed practice yesterday to nurse a bruised thigh. Should Wells be unable to play against the 49ers, expect rookie Vernand Morency to get the start at running back.
Oh, but the 49ers countered the sad Texans news when they sent their starting runnning back, Kevan Barlow, to the injured reserve on Wednesday. San Francisco will also likely turn its rushing attack over to a rookie, Frank Gore.
Ah! But the Texans also finally bid farewell to defensive end Gary Walker for the season as well. The team sent the former Pro Bowler to the injured reserve after he underwent surgery this week to mend a torn triceps muscle. Take that, Niners.
To fill the roster voids, the Texans signed defensive end Jason Davis and activated safety Jammal Lord from the practice squad. Davis, a member of the team's practice squad in 2003 and 2004, failed to make the active roster out of training camp last August. Lord, a running quarterback from Nebraska, was the team's sixth round pick in the 2004 draft.

Are you FREAKING kidding me?

uh.......just thought that anybody who was betting this game would like to know.

I agree with oldmanTed, plus

Hasn't it been established already that SF CANNOT get the pick even if ALL the other contenders WIN theirs??????

Anyhow, teams that were going to tank the final game wouldn't have been winning or trying to win their previous two games-- makes no sense.
