They will never regain the popularity they had in the 90's

Only 1 game on tv...

Only way they can make money is by charging gamblers 200 a year for the league pass.

Such a boring game nowadays.

Hockey is 20 times more exciting.

I agree. For people who do not have NBA League Pass there is not a lot of games to watch. I have a Canadian (Starchoice) and American (Directv) satellite dish and they do not have a lot. On the Canadian dish TSN carries a couple Raptors games per week, and Sportsnet generally has a game on every night. For the American dish ESPN generally has a double hitter on Wednesday's and Friday's.

I agree the NBA is terrible to watch. I will bet it but I can't stand watching the games. The product is just awful compared to 10-15 years ago. The new rules have helped to improving scoring but its still bad to watch. I much prefer the college game, there is much more ball movement. I can't understand how fans can pay so much money to watch such a lousy game.

People are marks for these guys. If you can market something towards a group of people who idolize these guys they will come. It's also called diehard fans who like to be a part of it. Some people just love sports.

8 people standing around while 2 guys go one on one - over and over again. We turn it on for the comedic valu eevery now and then. Crowds are always dead. It's a lifeless game - shame too cause basketball is a great sport

Watch the PISTONS on Christmas day and you will change your opinion. Now with Flip Saunders it's a fun team to watch.

Watching a good college game makes you realize just how bad the NBA has become.

BASEBALL GUY sounds like a guy getting his butt kicked in the NBA...but maybe it's just a coincidence.

I find the NBA to be FAN-tastic and I hardly ever watch games live.

I posted this regardless of the outcome of my NBA bets.

It is just so boring to watch.. Last 2 min of the game is the only exciting part.

The inconsistancy is really what turns me off. You have a team dominating one night on both sides of the ball.. Then the next night sucking on both sides of the ball.

First place teams playing like shit. Last place teams playing like shit.

It is just a bad product IMO.

Following the puck takes a bit of practice, but it ain't that tough.

I can recall when I first started watching about five years ago (due to my betting) on TV.

Couldn't always follow the puck and goals would be SCORED!!!!!! without my seeing it happen.

But then one nite I saw a guy on the Sharks (never forget it) come out from behind the net with a perfect centering feed and another guy one-timed it into the net.

Rock solid.

As for BBGUY's laments about the NBA, I'll note that this is why over the past seven years of being a regular sports gambler I watch less and less of the events from any sport.

Capping and investing is very actuarial for me. The fun of watching the games has diminished unless I see it live in person.
