When you go to Subway, how many God damn times do you have to say no thank you? I swear to God I get asked about 8 questions every time I order a sandwich....I didnt even know the subject "sandwich" was that broad.

Do I want it big?
DO I want it toasted?
Do I want it on white bread or some other?
Do I want avocado?
DO I want white or yellow cheese?
Do I want extra cheese?
Do I want jalapenos?
Do I want olives?
DO I want pickles or regular cucumbers?
Do I want salt and pepper?
Do I want oil and vinegar?

By the time I reach the cash register Im not even sure I want the sub anymore....

How annoying.

The subway I frequent does not ask me most of those questions. Just what kind of bread, toasted and type of sandwich.

I usually stop them right when they start asking me questions and just list off everything I WANT, and then say "nothing else"

here in Canada, you are responsible for telling them what you want, & they just build it for you......

you watch as they build it & you tell them the condoments you want

& then you go home & :pucking: after eating all that processed meat & cheese/

I consider that welcome & personalized service-- try altering a burger at Mickey D's & watch to see if they make a face, & how long it takes.

yeah I understand charles but it gets annoying, no no no no no no no no

Once she asked me if I wanted avocado on it. I said yeah but only if you give me something different than the ones that were sitting there (they were brownish and yucky from sitting out). She smiled and cut open another one.

I like cklennon's idea.......tell them everything up-front. I've done this before and man, it throws them for a loop. When they ask what I'd like to have, sometimes I'll just say, "I would like to get a footlong turkey on wheat bread, not toasted, with swiss cheese, mayo, lettuce, and NOTHING ELSE. And that's to go." Most of the time I'll get a blank stare, one time a girl just started laughing as if to say "There is NO WAY I got all that!"

Fast food joints are a trip. I did a research paper for a management class on McDonald's and why it is a mechanistic organization. That type of work, though honorable (I've certainly been there), can really dumb you down. Sometimes it's to the point that when anything remotely out of the ordinary happens, nobody knows what to do.

I'm somewhat of a Subway expert--I eat there at least 3x week and I've eaten at Subways in 37 states.

I go on the offensive: tell them exactly what you want. I never have a problem.

Subways have become more standardized in recent years. Some would insist on cutting a wedge out of the roll, making the sandwich, and then putting the wedge back on top. Some would put mayo/mustard on first, some last. It's gotten better.

There are plenty of better sandwiches out there: mom and pop locals, Jersey Mike's, even Quiznos. The appeal of Subway is thatam if you're stuck in Nowhere, Nebraska, and you have a choice between a local and a Subway, you choose Subway. It may suck, but at least you know what you're getting.

I also tell them everything before they have a chance to ask.

6in BMT pan blanco, doble queso blanco, no avocado, con todos los vegetales menos chile dule, incluyendo jalepenos.
mostaza y mayonesa - si,
aceite y vinagre - no,
sal y pimienta - si
en combo
con sour cream and onion
coke
3 galletas de chocolate chip.

Not like any of you wanted to know my subway order... hahahahaha

Order like you would if you were visiting the Soup Nazi

"I want one 12 inch BMT, yellow american cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, cucumbers and salt and pepper on wheat. Not a combo - just a sub"

Put your $10 up on the counter and move slowly, side to side down toward the register. If any of the 'customer service help' as much as hint toward asking you a question, you politely say "NO MONEY FOR YOU !!" and leave.

Repeat daily for 162 days til they get it freaking right. You might be hungry but you WILL be referred to as the Sub Nazi.

Are you in Nowhere, Nebraska often or are you a glutteon for punishment?

Hitman, isn't it relatively cheap to purchase one? I've heard people say you can get in as low as $10,000 and I thought I read that on the website some time ago as well. Is this true? Why did you get out? What kind of cut do they take? What would be your overall advice if someone was thinking about getting in? The one that I go to during work hours is right next to a Home Depot and they get TONS of overflow (hungry contractors, Home Depot employees, etc.), plus they make sandwiches for an entire school in the morning and then load up a car and deliver them.
Anyways, let me know......I'd like some feedback. Thanks!
