It has been officially confirmed this morning that the cause of death was suicide by hanging.

:sad3:

If you do nothing else today, say a prayer for the entire Dungy family.

All relative though, when you are born with a lot of special privledges, I don't think you have the same mentality as someone who comes from middle lower class.

Two prime examples this week Dungy and Reardon, both had great wealth and what most would think were ideal lives and will say this should have never happened, without looking deeper... happiness is underappreciated in this world, it truely is all relative.

Peter King wrote an article that just happened to be in this issue of SI about Dungy and I believe King said Dungy talked about how he does not have enough time to spend with his kids ....

This shit never happens to scum like Hitler or Hussein

If he did feel that I'm sure he feels like he is to blame.

NFL coaches that live at the facility for 3 days at a time (which is crazy)

it's just sad because im sure no one here has seriously considered suicide, i can't imagine what kind of mindset you must need to have to go through with something like that

So the family didn't have to deal with the medias questions right away I'd expect.

I may be in the minority here but while I feel really bad for Tony Dungy who is a class act and his family I don't care one bit about his son. I think his son was weak for taking his own life.

While I didn't know the kid personally I do know he had his own place at 18, his family was well off and respected, had a girlfriend and he seemed to fit right into the lucky sperm club having a dad like that. What I am trying to say is that the kid didn't have a rough life at the very least there are alot more people with a rougher life than his who cope and try to deal with it day after day.

I just think the kid is selfish for causing his parents and loved ones so much pain right before christmas no less in taking his own life.

It's an outsider of view I know. You are correct and I mentioned the fact I didn't know the kid personally so I don't know what troubles he was going thru. From someone outside looking in I don't have it in me to mourn the kid for taking his own life due to the troubled life he felt he was living cause I don't feel like his life was all that bad compared to a lot of people's lives. I just think taking your own life 99% of the time is selfish.

Neither do I. I have no respect for people who attempt or complete suicide. There are plenty of people who want to live. If these people want to die that is their buisness.

I am a teenager from this generation and only 20. Teenagers these days have a hard time fitting in and finding out their purpose in life. Sometimes they don't feel acceptance and want to find that. I was a teen counselor in high school. It's tougher then ever to be a kid. Whether you come from the hood or upper class. Everyone has their own problems. Sometimes people think happiness is bigger then having a set financial life. People want to find their purpose.

Yes and sometimes they go into their school with an automatic rifle and mow down half the people there.

See that is the other side of this. People who don't value their own lives hardly value others. Society is probably better off without this individual. Harsh but true.

Dude we all felt that way when we are 20 and in our teens. The whole its tougher now then ever to be a kid is bullshit. Try being 17 in 1942 or early 1970's knowing that in 12 months time your country is going to ship you oversea's to fight a war that you might not come back from. I think those era's are much tougher than today as an example. I didn't even start talking about growing up in the depression.

I see what you mean, but my theory is as long as you aren't harming anyone else your ok in my book. I understand what you mean. Life is tough for some.

I just stay strong, think positive, work hard, and always have something to look forward to. Though I am not everyone, you just gotta realize that better days are ahead if you want them to be, but I always work hard to make tomorrow better.

Were losing kids today as well in Iraq. The problem is still going on. Though we don't have a draft today those that are less fortunate are still dying.

I think maybe people were more individualistic back then. Maybe cared more too? I am not sure, but I think maybe the teenagers of then cared more then they do now about their friends and shit. Just my opinion. Sorry if I offended anyone.
