There was actually one year when the college all-stars beat the Green Bay Packers. I believe it was in the early-to-mid 60's. I think they played the game at the old Solider Field in Chicago.

I think they played the game as the first one in pre-season.

All but the KO to the 30...old is alright, but I'd take young again in a heartbeat.

anybody else remember the kickoff that would go beyond the endzone endline coming out to the 30? it was a one year rule i believe late 70's and was changed because everyone said someone that booms it out of the endzone should not pay the price for doing something good.

When did college ball get rid of the kicking tee?

I remember back in the day when Russell Erxlaben at UTexas used to routinely kick 70 yards FG's

How about in the NBA when players had 3 ft's to make 2 ........

There was no 3 point shot, but on a normal foul, u got 3 chances (if needed) to make 2 of them.....

If that is correct, I'll bet it was in 1976 when I was in the Navy, because that's the only year I didn't get to watch college football.

Anyone remember when soccer-style kickers first came out they made them place the ball a yard behind the 40-yard line on kickoffs because the kicker would be offsides with his planting foot?

I think a great moment occured on MNF when some team (I think it was the Houston Oilers) was getting the hell kicked out of them like 40 to nothing and near the end of the game the camera focused on some fan sitting by himself with like nobody else in his section. The camera sat on him for a couple of seconds and the announcers were full of their witty banter and the guy looked straight at the camera and without changing his expression or saying anything, gave the camera the finger.
