You ever play Floor Hockey as a kid ?

Loved playing that in gym class . Also played in a league when I was about 10 .

Think it was also called Cossom Hockey ..

We also played a game called Speedball . It was a version of soccer and basketball . Played on a soccer field . You could catch the ball and run 3 steps with it . You could pass it but could only kick it in the net..

I miss high school gym class ..

Yeah in Canada all we did is play floor hokey in gym class. A near riot would break out if a basketball was thrown out to the gym.

i played some goalie. would wear a baseball glove on my left hand and whatever i could find on my right hand.

their was serious slashing going on in the crease..

but i would just high stick them to get them out..

In Canada, when I grew up, you played hockey in the winter and every other variation of hockey (tennis balls, wiffle balls, foam balls) in the summer.

would make a great over 40 league .. bunch of over weight out of shape guys running up and down the floor slashing each other ..

we called it gym hockey and I LOVED it....so much fun

I remember with the plastic sticks, if you couldn't shake someone on your way to the goal, you could just ram your stick into theirs and with the momentum the sticks would just bend and you could keep on keepin' on towards the goal

We got to bring our hockey sticks to gym instead of those awful plastic sticks however we had to wear goggles we an eye wouldn't fall out or something. We also played with a orange ball that was hard like a rock.

we always had to use the plastic sticks .. had to get to class early and get dressed quick so you could get the best sticks.

we played in an area where we turned lunch tables on their sides for our boards.

We placed orange cones where the free throw lane intersected the end line on the basketball court. If the puck went behind the line outside of the cones we could pull it in front of the line and score that way.

For some reason the goalie on the opposing team got checked out of the lane and the puck went behind the line. I was in place to pull the puck out and simply slide it back behind the line for a goal. But there stood the clumsiest kid in school who never scored a goal or a basket or a run.

I looked up at him and slid him the puck which he stopped and had no problem slapping it in the goal to score. It's the only time the kid ever scored in any sport.

Took me a while to get the hang of shooting that orange little puck. But once you get the right stick with the right curve on the blade, look out, you could shoot laser beams. Played goalie against those shots too. After one game (the championship), I was covered in little puck sized welts from head to toe. God bless the man who invented the can.

it was 1 sport where I got even for the other sports where I got my ass kicked. Hoops not tall enough, Football not big enough. Loved Floor Hockey

The best thing about the plastic blades was the curve you could put on them. Every 7 year could go top-shelp with those things ... yeah, they would hurt the backhand, but 7 year olds don't use their backhand anyways.

Ya hockey in the gym the street whereever we even used to ball up a few pieces of paper wrap tape around it get some rulers and have a game in the class room or at home in the hall what a way to wear out the knees in your pants Paris Hilton must have the same problem

One time, when we were kids, my bother and I played hockey in the basement using and onion for a puck. We mashed that onion so bad, we both threw up.

I played in a Sunday night league 4 years after High School on Sunday nights
was lots of fun.
