I bet totals only during bowls and nfl playoffs.

I had the Ucla Over 74. It's academic now, because two tds were scored with 35 seconds to go, but to that point the total sat at exactly 74. If it had ended that way, would my Over 74 bet have been a push or loss?

Like I said, I rarely bet totals. And never had a situation where I landed right on a total I had bet. I have a journalistic background, and "Over 74", semantically, tells me the score has to go over that number to win. Just hitting it would not be over.It would be right on it, which would look like a push. (The "under" would obviously have lost, no? Or would that have also been a push?)

In any case the bet was won, as was my side with da Bruins.

Hey, I'm not afraid to show selected ignorance. And, I used to work for a sports book. Not, natch, in taking bets, just in marketing! Just don't go near too many totals, except I loved this one and two others in the bowls.

Many thanx!

Oh sorry.

An early start on NY eves celebration had me thinking the replies said "win."

Push, right. And under would be a loss.

If the number lands on the Over/Under in a game, both are pushes.

There are sometimes flaky terms with Props though.

Has anyone ever had a local where all ties on totals were losers?

I actually did-CROOK!

If over 74 meant you lose on 74 that would mean under 74 would also lose. That would sure be a boon to the books!

come on guys, give the guy a break, not everyone spends all day going throgh sheets, bets, games, touchdowns, running back ratios, weather advisories etc etc etc...

thats the way I try to look at it every time someone asks me a basic question.

Might be OK if everything paid +100.

I've heard of locals who do that. If you bet "over 41" and it doesn't go over, you have a loser.

Hate to say how many Nevada books have ties lose parlay cards. And people stand in line to bet them. Talk about being led to slaughter.

Best Wishes...OF :howdy:
