It can't be many customers. Maybe RCS wasn't all that insolvent, and it didn't cost much to take over ? Goodwill, publicity ?

All ten or so RCS customers must be the bonus seeker/ sharper types, that already know about and/ or have CRIS accounts.

RCS had like 50% in cash of the balance owed players and with a small player base it was, IMHO, a cheap goodwill gesture

It was a lot more than ten, but between Oldfriend, AK and supposedly Sick G even larger-yeah, they were infested with the bonus whore crew.

The problem was that several everyday regular players got caught up in it.

IF the place was insolvent, I can tell you about 4 reasons (names) why.

You can bet TOW had a hand in making sure this deal went through, if you know what I mean.

As you stated, looking at it at face value, this makes no sense for CRIS. Posters sent money to RCS solely for the bonus. They'll leave CRIS just as fast to get the next bonus.

Jay Cohen, former co-owner of WSEX had some excellent comments on the business aspect of this deal at another site.

I'm sure it was relatively inexpensive. They weren't there for Pan-am deal. Actually I maintain that Legendz should have stepped up on that one, since they are about the only book in Panama, would have been very good publicity, but I guess they decided it was not worth it to them, which indicates they are financially responsible. I have yet to play there.

I find more uses for CRIS lately. Overnites a big plus, they are liberal in what they allow to be parlayed. The free Fri NT every week is cool. They aren't as fast as say Oly. Oly pays you in 10 minutes at 3am, but 12 hours or so is quite good.

I still like Mansion a ton.

No book has everything you want, that's why you need many books.

Books best for me in no particular order are: Mansion, CRIS, Wagerweb, Pinny, Oly,5D,SIA, Sky. I don't need many others this time of year. Hollywood misses the cut for no overnight or pucklines, but I'd like to play there more, bases are coming.

TTinCO, AK must think we are all fools. Every time the gang at TOW posts on the RCS issue they make themselves look that much more shady.

Chuck,

As I posted elsewhere I invite you again to call me before renewing your statements. Once you have ALL the facts be my guest, before then please refrain.

You must have quite a short memory my man. Its nowhere on record that a gambling portal takes responsibility for one of its advertisers and steps to the plate successfully brokering a commercial deal aimed to secure players balances. Nowhere.

You may recall the Betpanam saga. After others, including SBR who had them on their recommended list (B+) until the day they tanked, pumped and dumped, I was the only one, first as individual, then as watchdog site to take the serious personal risks I took and do my utmost to get players paid. And 48 of them did, that was over 235K cash.

I could also mention Gamblers Avenue, with more than 400 players balances successfully rescued.

Given the fact that with the brokerage of this sale of assets (no rollovers and take over hardware and employees) I have successfully secured over 2,000,000 in balances for over 900 players in 2 and a half year, I would at least respect the fact you'd call me before posting your conclusions based on the vague knowledge of a very complex situation.

My number is 866-5740-TOW. Thanks.

Roberto did good with this, IMO. I think he played a big role in getting this done. I'll let SBR John and his boys fight Roberto and his guys, as I have nothing to do with it. I'm pleased the innocent players involved got paid, that's the main deal.

Both SBR and TOW are involved in this industry in a way that makes their watchdog efforts subject to skeptism, It's like Consumer Reports rating automobiles, but at the same time being owned by General Motors.

Players as a whole are better off because both SBR and TOW exist.

How can the bail-out be called a win for the players as it was characterized? Of course the alternatives would suck but basically all they are doing is getting the players their own post up money back? Pretty sad commentary if this was a "win", hell at best I'd call it +100. All that went on is another underfunded book got sent into insolvency and the players are now put into a book the players should have been in from the start?

Sure Roberto probably did more than any other forum owner would have done but they put the players in harm's way to begin with. I hope TOW finds other ways to make money than taking advantage of suckers just finding the forums that don't know any better. I doubt CRIS or any of the other solid shops are going to keep saving the rookie project books of the world so the forum owners can make money. Could be wrong but I doubt it.

TOW, you stepped up to the plate and made it right. You are right on many issues. But for you guys to say you were right all along is so wrong.

Maybe you missed this post by RPM 2 weeks before the RCS issue came to light:
"Roberto just recently returned from visiting rich coast. They are doing VERY well, especially considering the type of year most books are having. Rich coast is actually exceeding their own expectations thus far..."

Chuck,

Here is my point. Do you really believe I would intentionally jeopardize the good deed of my past actions for a couple of dimes a month an advertisers pay ?

The main financing backer had a major personal problem. This happened on Dec. 20th. On Dec 22nd I was made aware of the situation by RCS general manager. I asked to see their players liability and cash availabilities. I tell you that in that precise moment all players liabilites were covered.

I then asked him if he wanted or needed help. I asked him four times. Four times he said no because he had a new backer stepping in after Christmas.

At that point in time, only at that point in time (December 27th), I learned about Bookthebet. Had I been aware since the 22nd rest assured I would have informed all players of the situation.

When I learned about the new twist I IMMEDIATELY returned from my short Christmas vacation with my family and got to work.

What most people don't know is that I have built a network of larger books interested in purchasing smaller ones should the case occur.

This is why when bookthebet, scared by the adverse information being posted asked to impose a rollover I said no and activated my contacts.

This is the chain of events. I understand John has to stand by his "wires" but this is the truth.

By the way.... I just got banned by sbrforum :smoker2:

Thanks Roberto for giving the details. Kudos to you for arranging CRIS to takeover RCS.

Thats unfortunate SBR has banned you. Its not right as all sites have to work together to keep the players funds protected.

This situation had a happy ending. I certainly can't criticize the outcome. Happy New Year!!

Whatever between John Buzz and Bill Dozer vs. Rubbertoe and RPM ! Who cares about their petty pissing contests ?

I don't work for either entity. Players won this round, is what matters. I don't give a SHIT, about their differences. I met both guys, but I was rather drunk at the time... Time being RX Bash.

I could make arguements to criticize SBR, TOW, and RX... no need... I'm not a wannabe guy, nor antorney, with dispute resolutions.

I'll play almost any book on a 100/100 deal ! Call me a bonus whore, I don't care, but I do make bets, sometimes those freebies lure me in, but I'm a wiley old fish.
