Do you keep the #1 pick and draft Reggie Bush or trade the pick away???

I think you have to trade the pick and bring in three bodies, and or, more draft picks. You have Davis in the backfield that's still young and averages over 4 yards a carry.

But Bush is the most exciting college player since Vick. Davis also holds trade value with his stats.

I keep Bush, his upside potential is so great. Not saying he will be, but COULD be one of the all-time greats. I'd have to at least see if he pans out. I'd kick myself if I traded for picks and he became Gale Sayers Jr.

Remember the Blazers and Sam Bowie - if the texas let Bush go and he turns itno a great one they will never live it down. They definitely draft - sign and play him asap.

Bush's potential is to great to pass up, although I actually think LenDale White could turn out to be the better pro.

But as great as he's going to be, he won't carry a team by himself. Never happens in football if you don't have the other pieces. Walter Payton was amazing every year of his career and nothing till they put that defense together. Barry Sanders never won anything. Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, etc.

With some owners, it may not even be all about winning. Some want a superstar for drawing power, jersey sales, more TV games, etc.

I agree that Bush doesn't make a team by himself, but I think a superstar is a start. If I owned the Chargers, for instance, I wouldn't give up LT unless I was getting some VERY good players in return. The guy is just too much of a stud - he's irreplaceable. Sure, San Diego is out of the playoffs this year, but they need to build around a guy like this, not give him up.

trade the pick for multiple picks. bush is not going to be a great pro because of his size. he is not going to return punts and kickoffs because of the fear of injury. davis is a solid back. let the hype for bush keep building and get maximum value from him thru trades and stock up multiple draft picks

Normal year... trade Bush when you need as much as Texans do. However this year is not anything close to normal.... Bush might be the best running back in a decade and Like Wil said... remember when the Blazers choose Bowie and left Michael Jordan go ! :103631605

very easy, trade for multiple picks. Bush's value is so high with all the hype. Running wild behind a great o-line and against pac-10 defenses is cute but in the NFL it will be a different story.

Plus specifically in Houston's case their team needs alot a work, you can't pass up the opportunity to get quality players at multiple positions.

Without knowing who would make the decision it would be horrible to trade him for picks...this is the weakest draft in years..say a team gave them their 1st 4 picks...is not probable at all that with 4 picks in the 1st 4 rds they would get 4 starters..2 maybe. i dont think there will be any "cant miss" selections left after late 2nd rd much less 3rd thru whenever....veterens and picks? again i dont see it, any team that would give up their 1st 2 picks plus 2 starters would be in the same hole houston is now.they'd have Bush and nobody to block for him or a defense so bad their offense would never see the field.
there are a few possibilities...philly= Owens and Mcnabb + 2 picks...naaaaa
saints= Brooks, haslett and Sullivan + 2 picks and some FEMA money....now theres a thought!! naaaa saints wouldnt part with sullivan AND the FEMA money.

Any ideas???? considering picks alone wont do it, what does your local team have to offer the Texans for Bush???

I personally would keep him. His value is so high and Texas has so many needs I think they trade him. He will also be so much better with a good team, can you imagine him with Indy or NE?

Would MOST DEFINITELY trade the pick. Texans need so much help. The deepest position on their team is RB. Bush is in for a culture shock in the NFL (a la Mike Williams, Justin Fargas, Keary Colbert) like all of the skill players from USC who aren't used to a defense. Bush won't be cutting back across the field for 80 yard runs in the NFL. Houston shoudl get a bunch of picks for push and keep Davis. Davis is a damn good NFL RB. RB's can always be found in the NFL as we have seen. Bush will NEVER play in an NFL Pro-Bowl which would make him a bust as a #1 overall pick.

For some reason you didn't mention the numerous USC players that made the jump, " You know , don't you, that every school has busts right", not just Pac 10 schools, but reading your Posts over last 2 months I'm not surprised. What kind of glasses are you watching the tv with that you can't see that this is a special athelete ? Glad your not my GM

bush best running back in a decade? i really must be missing out on all the hype. the texans are a pretty conservative organization and if they can get multiple picks/players, i think they go that route.

Whoremoan, I have to disagee. If he plays for a bad team and is abused early you may be right. If he plays for a better team and gets his touches at the right times I think he can be a Hall of Famer. The best player on the best team, he makes defenses look bad. The key is playing for the right team.

Randy, here is a ? for you. Name the best defense Bush faced this season? The Texans are a bad team, and he certainly wouldn't change that. Multiple 1st rd picks this yr and next might. They don't put kick returners in the Hall of Fame. Bush has never proven he can tote the rock 20+ times a game, let alone against an actual defense.

Who cares what defenses he has played against. Just look how gifted he is.
