Whats depressing is what the Stardust has become. A wimpy sportsbook. Before they shutdown their phone accounts I had to wait up to 25 minutes for approval on a $100 moneyline wager.
Wonder how long the Stardust's "neighbor" - The Frontier - lives
i do wonder what this will do to the KDWN programming they had on forever? Once they give up the time slot they won't get it back since KDWN will have to "move on" and once that time slot gets bought by someone else odds are slim the Stardust/Echelon won't want that time
this is somewhat sad for those who are dumb enough to bet on sports in vegas for among all books there the Stardust is one of the better ones
Can anyone say 'The Cooler'? personally I prefer Jack Gaughan's joint downtown where they used to give me the quarter toke with my comp 99 cent breakfast! Now, that is class!
Well I liked it. Spent many hours in the sports book. The best place on the strip for people watching. A cast of Characters second to none. I too will miss Tony Romas and Ralphs.
quite sad. really the pioneer for this whole thing. even the hotel and casino was a fun place in its day. these new places suck too many people and can never navigate my way around. spend more time walking around the casino lost than anything else.
The Stardust was the place to go back in the day when the lines were first posted. I remember when their race book was the best in town and watching the lottery for the openers of the NCAA tournament was a thing to behold. The phones right outside the race and sportsbook and the Wise Guy runners would hit those phones as fast as they could. No cell phones in those days. I always visit whenever I go to Vegas because it takes me back to a time when things were different. Going to miss that.:sad3:
