Well, now that the grind of bowl season is over, one less thing on my plate, I can relax and have some fun. I will give you my perspective of the Rose Bowl.

Holding USC -6 -20 I am ready for that threepeat. Let the demolition begin. Off to a bad start, as they trot out an old bag lady to coin flip. Oops, Sandra Day O'Connor. Well, she forces us to seperate church and state, can she just keep judicial and my sports seperate also? Hurry up god damn it.

Finally game goes, SC looks tighter that a nun's ***** on the first drive and punts away. Great. Texas gets the ball, guy gets bell rung huge and fumbles! Jackson babbles something and Fouts mumbles back. I am thinking, yowsa, that was brutal. SC marches down and scores, the rout is on. Thunder is looking strong. Texas bench showing some real we are screwed body language. Except for player who fumbled, he is still wondering, "where am I?"

Turn the channel back too fast and see Heather Graham and John Stamos in the same 30 seconds. I feel a coma inducing. I think Heather will Shagquick as a premature ejaculation and her show will last 1/2 a season. Stamos, so I said your name wrong punk, do you feel lucky? No, your luck ran out when the full house emptied. Those twins are making real money, Sagat bombed as unfunniest home video emcee and you were just not talented to begin with. Can I bet which one get's canceled first? Get on with the game.

Now what? Must be old bag lady day, as we trot another one in front of the camera. She is the Rose Bowl Grand Poomba. She whines about the parade getting rained on, starts driveling about the rosey bowl history, right after these lame commericials. I am about ready to King Kong my plasma as I see the game being played behind her. Hey fellas, can we watch the game?

Uh oh, Texas decides they want to end this early and try an ill conceived 4th down attempt midfield and go backwards. Brutally bad call in that situation. SC has a chance to go up 14-0. Oh no, they are not going for it on 4th down? Didn't you see what happened to them? Kick the figgee. Probably trying to draw them offsides. Yep, oh no, Matt thinks he sees something and audibles a live play while Coach Pete is scrambling on sidelines, call a timeout. Too late, as Matt saw a hole that might have been there vs. Hawaii, but these Texan kids are bigger, strong and much faster. I take note and moan.

Where was Thunder? Now Texas is starting to click, exploiting edges and linebackers. Cutbacks for rb's, tight end open all day long and Young running right through entire LB corps. This is not good. They can't stop anything, not even one part of their offense. Pass rush is nonexistent, looks like this bet is destined for the burn barrell. SC is crumbling. But now it is Lightening's turn. And he is going to make the big play. Well, maybe not as he laterals to the grass, to the amazement of everyone, including his own teammates. Memo to him, the Heisma trophy guy is carrying the football, not lateraling it to another unsuspecting player not on the statue. Keep it real please.

This is getting ugly, hard hitting by both sides, but SC looks arrogant and lacksadaisical. Not good for me. But Matt will bring us back. Maybe not, as he floats a rainbow up at the pylon and a centerfield defender runs all the way across the field and picks it. Guess they did not take note, they are not playing Hawaii. Those deep floating rainbows might as well be wounded ducks. These DBs are too fast for that. My SC ticket is starting to smolder. Now Texas and Young are running through and passing through the entire front 7 of SC. This looks like Arizona St redux.

Texas still manhandling SC front seven and now I see an obvious things to come. The replay booth is gong to be a factor. So far not a problem as Matt did throw a wounded duck that got picked. There was some other dink play that they should have never been reviewed either. But now I see Young lateral like Reggie, except off his knee to a player. I think everyone saw that. Replay booth, empty, as they left early to beat the long lines at the concession stands. Well, they show it on the replay three or 4 times, and the replay officals see it on the monitors by the hot dog stand. They sprint back to the booth, but too late extra point has been kicked. Ooops.

Well, last chance before the half, and Matt gets bell rung using his chin and head to block a fast strong DB's shoulder pad. Jackson and Fouts co-mumble. Where is Madden and his oomph. If there was a hit on a QB that deserved an oomph, that was it. Matt gets up, and thinks starting for the Saints will be like this every other down. Luckily get a figgee and get ready to work half. Talk with another viewer and we both agree, this puppy is about to break loose scoring.

Thankfully they hang a 34 which is cheap in my mind, seeing Young Texas is having his way every play and SC is just getting warmed up. Matt needed his bell rung to knock that smug look off his face and Lightening needed an O shit to humble him to play right. Grabbed a 2H over as soon as I could to balance out my SC dud. However, still live to hit both. Seen that happen before.

Missed the halftime show, as they are about as entertaining as ABC's two new shows. With the old bag lady theme of the night I envisioned old bag lady cheerleaders showing too much skin. I can open my #14 Konerko official world series jersey with official patch on sleeve. Had to wait to see if he resigned. Has an official hologram sticker also. Hey, the freaking glue from the official hologram sticker melted on to the jersey, wtf? Get a size 48 and it is snug, not good. Well, back to the game, go SC and 2h over.

All is well as Lightening now has his head on straight and flies through the air 5 yards and scores. Took all of 3 minutes. Hey, we are looking good. Texas scores, as SC just has no answer for Youngster. Hmm, maybe use one of those linebackers that are not doing anything anyway, to spy, or maybe blitz. They sure are not tackling or covering the tight end.

Now SC is beginning to roll. Thunder is just running over Texas D. SC is winning and going to cover also. 2H over is a gimme. Well, appparently no one told me the ending because it was not what I envisioned. Coach Pete goes into a prevent D, or were they playing that all game. Soft coverage allows SuperYoung to run for 7 or pass for 7 at his leisure. I am thinking Texas covers by losing by 5. Better check live betting. Texas +6 1/2 a slight dog, but they are driving for cover score and not that much time left, maybe 3 minutes or so.

Wait, let me regress. Back to the replay booth. Young is finally being contained, and has to throw. SC guys drops one easy pick, and Texas guy catches ball, gets smashed but is ruled and incomplete pass? What? To spin it before it happens, Fouts babbles bear in mind, we are watching it in slow motion. I do not care if it is super duper slo mo, that was a catch, possession and a fumble. However replay booth decide otherwise, and they pan up to show them and they see themselves on tv, quickly hide Texas hat and coffee mug. First chance I get I am off this SC side, as the fix could be in.

Texas getting big chunks of yardage, same as entire game. Still +6 1/2 + money. Now 2 and 10. Texas now +6 1/2 +.50. Hey that looks good to me, sure will offset that crappy -6 -.20. Grab enough to cover loss and count profits on 2H over. Very next play another easy first down, now +6 1/2 ev. Miss that with a paused event, in fact, it was paused event until they score again and cameback +6 1/2 -2.00. Must have been a sticky pause button.

Now SC just needs to run clock out, win by 5. They already got screwed by BCS or would have been a threepeat going for a fourpeat. Some bonehead pass play to stop the clock for Texas when Thunder has wornout Texas D gains nothing and sets up long yardage on third. Well, short, now another 4th down. Let's do a quick recount, how many successful 4th down conversions in this game to this point? None. In fact, both backfired badly. Punt you idiot! Nope, now they go to LenDale instead of 2nd down where there is a guess where the ball is going. You know Matt is not going to sneak again. Well, entire Texas D is waiting for that, surprise. 10 guys tackle him short.

Now the drama the script was building for, a nailbiter finish. The Heisman runner up just decided this was more important, and did what he did all game long, used the SC charmin defense. Did he ever get stopped, even hit or touched? Then the nailbiter play on the nailbiter drive for the nailbiter ending. Young has to do it on 4th down, no choice here. Well, I would contain him just in case. Guess not, his target is covered, so he scambles for the 30th time. Sort of like Thunder running on 4th down, except SC still has no clue. TD, game, set and match.

A bunch of fluff at end, stupid timeout wasted on two point conversion, the last timeout they needed. But it should have never even come down to that. And Keith, isn't it timeouts, not timesout? Quit confusing me. SC has one last gasp, but with 19 seconds left, it is a gasp into a garden hose running into your muffler. Keith again astutely points out clock did not move during conversion. No shit sherlock, it ain't supposed to. Even partner Dan could not resist a dig on that one.

I was too lucky to get off a lousy chalk with a bigger priced dog. I watched an excellent game, the only bowl I actually tried to watch start to finish. I saw a new national champion deservedly crowned. They did just enough to win, and SC did just enough to lose. In order to win, you have to have a higher socre than your oppenent when time expires. What a game.

No, it was basically pointless. Unlike your pointed head, Zippy. Why is my jar taking so long to get here? The underlying message is, watching sports is a national obssession, with every agenda in the world thrown at you, incompetent announcers who are just dementia training and you have got to know when to fold'em. Could have watched Full House rerun instead. Gimme a SB prediction or team Pancho.

Nice read FROG.

Bought USC @ -6 1/2 back on 12/4 and held it tight. Thought I'd hedge some with a Texas +196 ML before kickoff and do some Pinny in-game scalping if needed.

I had a feeling that my -6 1/2 was invincible when USC was moving the ball well, and looking at at 14-0 lead. Well nothing wrong with +194 insurance.
14-0 sure didn't happen and the back and forth was on. In-game can be very lucrative as long as there are lead changes. That we had last night.

Ended up losing the -6 1/2 of course and got it back and some more playing in-game.

Lots of crap going on about how Carroll and the Troy Boys blew two 4th down runs. Well I watched all of their games this year, and they pulled it off almost every time they tried it this year. I respect the calls.

NFL to go for me and then I'll hibernate until MLB opening day...

I post where I want. Always have, always will. I tried to help out EOG on it's initial startup. Not going to trash them but draw your own conclusions. I wish the SHRINK and EOG, and the General well. Just like I wish everyone here well except Jarbo, he of "I intelligent" fame. I still laugh at that one. To me a forum is only as good as it's posters. Or the members. You could say there was a difference of opinion on what should be tolerated at an offshore forum, and I objected from day one. There is a place for everything, and this is my offshorebetting time. Besides, have a lot of memories here, it is like my home pond. I have been behaving well.

FROG,

Still on that "nasty winning streak"? Only play that I have seen you post since your return was a loser, Giants/Raiders under. Just wondering if you are still on that streak?

Against a 3 pt down move, from 139 to 136. Final 85 79, 28 pts over, with no ot. Went ov 74 2H. 90 2H also 16 over. Hoops have been very sweet. But thanks for checking in, I forgot about you. Greenhead, you were right on the money here.

Glad you are still on the winning streak. I meant no harm when I asked. Really. I was just wondering because I thought that you were going to start posting plays again. Once again, I meant no harm. Glad you are still on fire. :103631605

GREENHEAD,

Yes, I may be young and dumb. As far as "begging for a truce", dont think that ever happened. But like I just posted to FROG, I did not mean any harm when I asked if he was still on his nasty streak. I can see how it may have come across that way, but did not mean it like that. I was under the assumption that FROG was going to start posting again. I saw him post one play and then nothing since. That is the only reason that I asked. Glad you guys are both still on fire. :103631605
