At the age of 22, was caught going 120 mph on the way to see a Red Sox game departing from Iowa City.

The Missouri HPT nailed me just across the state line.

Hawkeye171 had the distinction of being in the passenger seat at the time.

Guilty

During college summers back home, there was a neighborhood bar that we hung out at that we later learned the cops would "trace" cars leaving. Complete bullshit.....they had a vendetta against the bar owner & took it out on his patrons. You couldn't leave the place after midnight without getting stopped or at least ending up with a cop following you at some point.

Guilty, 1996. I made the mistake of wearing a suit to court. After watching 3 dirtbag looking dudes with higher bacs get off with $400 fines the judge must have thought I looked like I could afford it and hit me $800. To this day I wonder where's the justice!

My brother was caught doing the same...........on a motorcycle!!

Not intoxicated though and the cop let him off with only a warning.

Had 1, about 20 yrs. ago. Was pulled over for going the wrong way on one of the busiest one-way streets in Baltimore City. Lucky for me I was only doing about 20 MPH and it was 4:30 AM.

never got a DUI...but somehow someway I weasled my way out of 2 of them

Leaving the German-American Festival...hammmmering Amber Bocks left and right...Im dumb enough to drive back and I get nailed by a State Trooper. He does a sobrieity test on me...I pass them all...the finger touching the nose, saying the alphabet backwards, walking a straight line....BUT I failed the breathalizer...legal limit in Ohio is .08...I blew a .13

and he let me go? his exact words were "ok, I just wanted to make sure you were ok to drive home" :icon_conf

A year later, I had a few beers with my friends and we were heading up to the pool hall when all of a sudden I get pulled over for not using my signal. We had open containers in the car! We throw the beers in the backseat and you can EASILY smell the alcohol from me and the car. The cop asks me 100 questions and even catches me in a few lies. After its all said and done...he let me go

that was the last time I drank and drive. The only time I even drink these days is when DAWOOFDADDY and I go to a bar...and I only drink about 2-3 beers TOPS...

Haven't gotten one yet, been pretty damned fortunate. How fortunate, you ask?

On New Year's Eve when I was 17, I was at a friend's party(parents didn't know I was there, of course). I got wasted beyond comprehension before midnight. By 1 I was barely standing. Then my parents call my cell phone and proceed to tell me that they know I'm not where I'm supposed to be. They ask if I'm drunk(I tell them I'm not, naturally, even though I'm slurring badly), so they tell me to get my ass home ASAP. Now, I live in Northern VA, a minute or so from the Maryland border. The party was also in Northern VA, but south of my house, just 10 minutes away. Anyway, I stumble to my car(yelling at the people who are trying to tell me not to drive), and climb in to head home.

I then proceed to drive home...it takes me TWO HOURS to get home. Not exaggerating. Best part: I remember being in the car for about a MINUTE, and all I remember is being lost somewhere in Maryland, driving past my exit, swerving really bad one time on the Beltway and thinking to myself, "I gotta stop swerving," then swerving back into the original lane, and finally, pulling up to my house.

All this while I was underage driving drunk on the worst night of the year to do so. How I didn't hit a sobriety checkpoint or die is beyond me. It was a miracle.

Needless to say, I still drive drunk on a regular basis. Obviously I've learned from my mistakes. I'm overdue on getting one, and probably will sometime soon just for posting this. Yay.

I got my DUI in 1989. It was the night before I was supposed to go to my corporate HQ in Chicago. Needless to say, I didnt stay at that job long. We live we learn. No one got killed and I learned a valuable lesson. Since then I have been very good about it.

Almost every one I know has one but me. I did get stopped once in college, failed the field sobriety test, and was told to drive home on the backroads.

Best friend got picked up after driving home an hour and a half from a party. He got all the way home without incident, went inside, poured himself a bowl of cereal, found out he didn't have any milk, then got arrested less than a quarter mile from his house on a milk run.

Similar story from a co-worker. Last year's Christmas party, wife drives him home because he's bombed. Gets home, sees two movies from Blockbuster that need to be returned. Gets pinched at Blockbuster. Currently serving 180 days in the can (3rd offense, at least one with property damage).

Got 2 of em'..........1 for racing my 69' firebird downtown elkhart, IN. I had that grand national beat had it not been for the cop. 2 for taking out a transformer pole with my blazer and knocking out the power of several city blocks. Such is life.

I've never had any kind of tickets for driving. I don't think I will ever get a DUI either since I don't drink.

However, cops did pull over me and my friend in Sioux City, Iowa going back to our University. The funny thing was he was wasted but he didn't get charge for drinking and driving but trying to hit a dog that was crossing the street.

Beat the breathilizer once. When I was young and wild, cops weren't looking to bust you for DWI. When things started changing, I quit driving with a buzz. Actually had a cop follow me home because I was so fucked up. Wanted to make sure I got home alright.
