I actually liked Howard Stern, but when someone comes on the biggest talk show in the world, and brags about the fact that he is about to make more money than everyone that I know will ever make combined in our lifetimes, it made me :pucking: . Whatever happened to a level of humility? I respect guys who make all the money, and are low key about it. Even Billy Walters doesn't stick it in your face like that. Do you hear Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson go on talk shows and tell the world that they can buy and sell them with their 30 mil a movie? No. Stern could at least display a little tact, which it seems he has none.

I can't picture him saying , that he usually downplays the money.

He did not brag about it but you can't tell me its not a factor. For him to say its not about the money its about my fans is crazy. Anyone who believes this is just kidding themselves.

I remember when he dropped out of the election for Mayor of New York because he didnt want to disclose his yearly earnings. Doesnt really sound like him to say that but I didnt watch last night. You have to admit he is worth the $$$ though.

I just think that when you consider that most of his listeners make $20.00 and hour, do they really want to hear that the guy makes more in one day than they make in a year? Maybe I am moron. My wife sure thinks so.:dancefool

Like him or hate him, Stern is a complete icon at this point because of this. He always stood out before in certain niches but now he just towers above the rest. No one in that industry (and almost any other industry) will ever make this kind of money and have this kind of attention.

I figure the government will make much more in income taxes from Stern now then they ever would have in fines levied against him through the FCC. So it's a win for Stern and for them. It's also a win for his listeners in that they'll get to hear a more uncensored type of radio show now.
