Is this normal on Parlays

A buddy asked me the other day why his odds on Moneylines always decrease when he puts them into parlays?

For Instance;

Straight up I can get the Hawks +280 and Magic +300

In a parlay I can only get Hawks +270 and Magic +285

Is that normal?

I hate books that adjust because of parlays...5dimes gives you true parlay odds
