Bowmans: Non-Top 10 Sports Book

I used to think a lot of Bowmans. They have dropped down to the bottom of the barrel in terms of being an honest book. They will pay out $$$ to winners. But it is laughable the odds they give on such common bets as future bets.

There will always be some discrepancies between books' odds, but just glance at the future odds that Bowmans offers on NCAABB, Super Bowl, etc. How they can say they are an honest shop with the below comparisons is beyond me.

They may not be a shop for futures, but they have a lot to offer overall.............and they are rock solid in the saftey/payout department.

Fish - I agree & mentioned that they will payout. But look at those future odds?!! How can any book, in this day-and-age offer such pathetic future odds?

Future odds are at every book and are pretty consistent from book-to-book. I have never seen any book be so way off as Bowmans on future odds.

They may be fine with every other bet (-110 isn't competitive now a days, but at least they are still -110), but looking at those odds, the player doesn't have a chance.

I've recommended over the years quite a few folks to Bowmans. Not any more. Olympic, Betcris, Hollywood, Pinnacle - are my recommendations any more.

Your point about Bowmans being a safet/secure out is very true and very important. But if the player is at such a distinct disadvantage, then the player is being jacked.

This is why it is so important to have several books. Who cares what their future odds are? I have an account at Bowmans simply to hit them when I like an underdog. Most of the time you can get a point or more on an uderdog. Most of today you could get the Jags at +8 -105 where other books such as Olympic had the Jags at +7.5 -120.

All your post shows is that it is important to have several books, I suggest at least 5 or 6 books if you are serious at all about gambling.

I have been with Bowmans for couple years...I recently had a problem with them and won't go back...I deposited got 10% bonus with rollover requirements like all...I lost the $1000 i deposited plus the 10% bonus...I then redeposit $1000 and turn it to $3000 on two plays and request withdrawl....I NEVER took bonus on reload which they offered to me...The clerk tells me I still have 4 times rollover on my funds from previous bonus..I sat no way..I lost all that and redeposted with no bonus...she says sorry you have to rollover..i ask to speak with manager...manager tells me after long talk that clerk was wrong and they will process withdrawl in 5 mins to my click2pay acount...i wait 4 hours and call back ...they said it will be done immediately.....I wait another 10 hours and call back....they said they are having trouble and I would have to wait....I did get withdrawl..but too much hassle...I like my other outs much better and won't be back....I wasn't worried about getting paid, but I hate that kind of hassle...

You make some good points. Multiple outs allows you to take advantage of dogs/overlays.

My overall point is that you don't see the complete jacking of future odds at a Pinnacle. Pinnacle will have all lines fair. I'm not talking about one specific game or event - but no way should a book be this far off on futures. Bowmans is jacking the individual punter - I'm not sure why. They can't have team exposure on every single team. We are talking about almost 50% off on most teams in the futures. I had to look twice to make sure I wasn't looking at teams getting to the Super Bowl (AFC/NFC winners) - vs. the Super Bowl winner.

I will back omaha's statement 100% It's a great book to have for dogs.
ex. I took Milwaukee +4 for the second half tonight at Pinny and pushed. I also took them at Bowman's +4.5 and won. Olympic had 3.5 and I stayed away. It is so important to have multiple outs, many do not understand.
Bowman's is super tasty for dogs. I could care less about their futures.

As for the rollover business, that really sucks to hear. I am glad you got it straightened out, but yes, I agree things don't need to be so difficult.

bowmans is great for football/basketball/hockey/baseball betting. if you like betting on tv shows or 2nd division israeli soccer, its not for you.
