Has any college ever won consecutive titles in bases, foots, and hoops?

Didn't realize Longhorns won baseball national championship, then Vince Young and co. and they have a legit top 10 team in hoops.
Is there any other school to have come close?

Good point, highly doubt it. Many times the contenders are CA schools with no football team like Fullerton and Pepperdine, while the Gators are the only team with even a halfway decent and consistent hoops program down in Florida, the other usual group of suspects in Omaha. Maybe if LSU ever got another Shaq they could make a run at it.

some commentator was talking about this during a texas football game earlier in the season...i want to say that he said that a college has never had a football and a basketball championship in the same year, but could be wrong on that

Would think it would have to be a baseball powerhouse, ruling out teams like Michigan, Ohio St. etc, who would have chances in football and basketball.

Most likely have to be a team from the Southern states or California for them to have a chance.

only legit contenders I could think of off top of my head.

No, but outside of USC they have all been ranked in the top 10 at some point and Georgia while down in the present has the resources and did make a final four apperance.
