For those that wager the NBA, how consideration do you put into the REVENGE FACTOR?

An example is tonight...

The CELTS lost a heartbreaker to the HAWKS last FRIDAY and tonight they play in ATLANTA.

The line...

BOSTON
ATLANTA -2

only way to handicap the nba is to flip a coin .

almost impossible to figure out what group of african americans are going to show up on any given night .

only time these clowns care is in may and june . and i'm not 100 % convinced they even care then.

Believe scheduling and revenge are two VERY KEY components in handicapping the NBA.

Keeping and analyzing schedule LOGS of each team can be very rewarding.

Take a look at the Milw. game. They are giving 1 to the T'Wolves who they lost to 99-91. Revenge is sweet!

With players who make millions of $$s and an 82 game schedule to navigate, believe revenge is a small factor in most cases. However, in isolated cases could certainly become a bigger factor such as games that include a fight, last second decisions, recent playoff foes, geographical forces (Clips/Lakers). It would be logical to assume that the recency of last meeting would enhance the revenge factor.

I lean to Boston tonight, but more for their anti-streak nature (have not won or lost more than 3 consecutive all season, tonight will be 4 losses if they fall) then for their last encounter with the Hawks. I will not have a play on the game however.

hawks / celtics is'nt a great example to draw from. Those are just two bad teams.

The celtics have all the motivation in the world to win but they have to be a bit deflated after 2 close loses. The hawks on the other hand are playing their best ball of the season. Atlanta also has a near .500 record at home

It's tough to point at either team with any serious conviction and -2 might as well be a pick em in an NBA game

I save revenge as being a real serious factor more for like the san antones or the Mia's of the league.

Fish - agree that scheduling will point to many more winning situations in NBA, much more important than any revenge factor.
