I haven't been to Vegas for almost a year and even when I was there, I used my offshore accounts for bets unless the Vegas line was better. I used to live in Vegas for two and a half years and was around the sportsbooks daily especially during the Computer Boys days. Now I see a lot of bitching an moaning about placing bets in Vegas and how much the limits have dropped. Can someone give me an honest answer about what the limits are right now in football and basketball. I know at the larger shops in town they would take 5500 on NFL straight bets and 3300 on totals. 3 years ago there were marquees on the strip during Super Bowl week that said they would take up to one million on the game. This was also true during the early 80's but stopped in the late 80's only to reappear again.

So what's the real story with the books limits? Who takes the action and who's afraid of it? Have the corporations like Harrah's ruined it for the high rollers? Not that there are too many of them anyway!
