the new sonys are getting rave reviews too

I would go with LCD I heard plasmas lose it after just 10,000 hours. If the

t.v is on 10 hours a day that's only about 2.5 years

Something most ppl don't consider when buying a Plasma: when you are moving it, it HAS to stay upright for the entire trip. At no point can the TV be turned or on it's back or anything like that; otherwise, the plasma will move and the TV will be ruined. Something you may want to consider if you ever plan on moving...the TV HAS to stay upright. And that's gotta be a huge bitch. One of the reasons I bought a LCD instead, which I'm very pleased with.

For what it's worth, I've heard nothing but great things about DLPs.

Plasmas seem to have some major issues. Wonder why that's pretty much all you see at sports bars?

Samsung rear projection DLP. Awesome value and all you do is change the bulb. IMO Plasma and LCD suck.

Bottom line is you have to have HD for these TV's to look great.

I got a Sony 55 inch projection LCD and the HD channels are supererb but the other channels ain't shit.

Week, a sportsbar will have a high turnover with tvs usually replacing them every couple of years. The good ones do at least.

Ya DLP's are good I got a 50" samsung the picture with just normal cable aint all that good so you'll want digital cable or satalite but dlp's are the best for the money.

I just bought a 32" Sharp LCD and absolutely love it. One thing people don't realize is you really should consider where you sit. The bigger screens don't look better if they are too big for the distance you are sitting from the TV. As a result the smaller than gigantic screen I got works very well and I only spent $1500 to get it. Plasma also works better with sports from a distance, so in bar-type settings the plasmas you see are actually the best you can get. Another thing to look at is the actual description of the TV. Most plasmas are "ED", not "HD". That is why the picture doesn't look as good on LCD or DLP. To get a plasma with HD you pay twice as much for a large screen you probably won't need.

Lots to consider when buying, so take your time and do some homework first.

Should consider buying online.

Several sites are $100s cheaper than BestBuy or CurcuitCity for the exact same model.
