$1 Million Prize on the Line in First-Ever 'Decathlon of Gambling' Competition
Qualifying Rounds to be Held in Atlantic City, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles
NEW YORK, Oct. 3 -- It's one thing to be a poker champion, but it's another to be Spike TV's KING OF VEGAS, where players must not only master poker but a full spectrum of casino games including blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, among others. KING OF VEGAS will feature gamblers who will compete in a 'decathlon of gambling' for a $1 million cash prize and be crowned the world's greatest gambler. The weekly original series will debut on Spike TV in early 2006.
Each weekly hour will feature gamblers going head-to-head on our primetime set. Players will compete across multiple games in each episode. Every episode engages the players' skill, strategy and sometimes sheer luck throughout the arc of the competition. It will be an epic tournament spanning 10 episodes. The series will culminate in a final showdown during which one person will prove that he or she is the master...the million dollar KING OF VEGAS.
This fall, Spike TV's KING OF VEGAS will hold qualifying rounds in Chicago, IL on Oct. 23; Las Vegas, NV on Oct. 29, Atlantic City, NJ on Nov. 6 and Los Angeles, CA on Nov. 9. Those interested in applying to participate on KING OF VEGAS should logon to SpikeTV.com for more detailed information and to fill out an online application. Certain applicants will be selected by producers to participate in one of the qualifying rounds mentioned above. At the qualifying round, applicants will take a written gambling test and/or play several different games to evaluate their skill level.
