Do you think in the future, books will follow Pinnacle's model?

Reduced VIG is spreading like wildfire across the offshore landscape and should continue.

Higher limits......not thats another story.

Not sure Pinnacle is THE model it once was 2-3 years ago in the offshore world.

Betting exchanges, as just one example, would seem to be one of the waves of the future.

One thing is for sure, the world of offshore betting is 5x+ better for the player than it was 3 years ago............in many aspects.

For that we can all rejoice!!!

It will be nearly impossible for anyone to follow their model. It is Pinnacle's volume that allows them to run their business this way. A new book or book without their volume (only a handful have their volume) would get killed with their model.

Sadly, some will try and they will shut the doors quickly...likely leaving players unpaid.

I'm not familiar with Pinnacle and their history. Did they initially open up as the first "low juice" shop, or did they deal -110 and then change to low juice?

When they first started it was all telephone and all -110.Then Henry experimented and hit the grand slam.

You need to be able to trade in mass to follow that model and stay profitable. I believe Pinny bets just as much as they book for small % over massive volume. JMO. Dont know too many who would be smart enough, technical enough, and funded enough to do so.

No, I think in the future exchanges will win and competition will lead to lower/different comission structure.

true and false on the exchange item. Pro bettors will go there, but this is also entertainment as well, and most bettors want to turn $5 into $5000 dollars overnight Hit the jackpot so to speak. So even betting 105 to get 100 can be a turn off to this player type.

They sure do have a toll free number.

But I believe his point is it is rarely used...this cuts down A HUGE overhead cost on staffing phone clerks.
